Had the pleasure, all circumstances considered, to have been looked after by Dr.Alsaffar in March 2021.
Felt very much at ease with him on the first appointment concerning my skin cancer diagnosis. His calmness combined with his knowledge helped me a lot. He moved very quickly to get tests and the resulting lymph node surgery on the way to make sure the cancer hadn't spread. What impressed me the most, was when I came in for a follow up a few months later. Even though we only met a few times before this, he has noticed that something was bothering me without me saying anything. He has taken a good half hour to talk to me about my anxiety and struggles to deal with my situation (even though not fatal) a great deal.
I really would like to say that he has helped me the most through this difficult time.
His office administrator Nathalie has been a great help as well. Very compassionate and always replied to any requests.
I have learned today that Dr.Alsaffar will be leaving the Ottawa Hospital, and as my doctor. This is actually very sad, not only for myself , but also for all the other patients he has helped. Hope that he will still be practicing and do his good work with patients.
I can't thank Dr.Alsaffar enough and good luck in his new ventures. Keep your smile.

Had a hemithyroidectomy about two years ago. Can’t say enough about how personable, kind and compassionate Dr Alsaffar is. My scar healed amazingly well, barely noticeable. The entire team was above and beyond what I expected.
I don’t know how surgery can be a good experience but with Dr Alsaffar and his team it was.

Dr. Hussain Alsaffar, no words or sentences would give justice to what a great human you are. I can’t thank you enough, he did 2 surgeries on my neck. He is full of knowledge, experience and compassion. My dad and I were very nervous and spoke to us like he was a family member of ours. God bless you and everyone you love. Dr.Alsaffar and his secretary Nathalie are the team from heaven. My spouse had partial thyroid removal a few days ago, and she is doing very well. First, I have to say that I was significantly impressed by Nathalie. She is very friendly, trying to answer all your questions, and she even answers emails at night. She fit my spouse in for surgery within a week because of the cancellation. Very helpful. Dr.Alsaffar is very pleasant knowledgeable with an excellent bedside manner. My spouse's surgery went very well with no problems. He called me right after surgery to let me know how my spouse was doing and answered all my questions. This was a really wonderful experience.

Dr. Alsaffar is just an amazing doctor. He removed a malignant tumour from my neck and put my mind at ease. He has been behind my recovery every step of the way. He told me exactly what to expect and there were no surprises. He recommended radiation as a precaution (that was horrible) and has followed me every step of the way. I am still feeling great and I thank him every day. Sometimes he runs a bit late, but that's okay with me as I have never felt rushed when he is answering my questions. He is my guardian angel

This man has the hands of an artist and the skill of, well, a surgeon! Incredible bedside manner, excellent pre-op and post-op consultation/communication and just a wonderful human being. I hope that we don't ever need to cross paths with him again, but if we do, we will be in excellent, caring hands.

Was referred to Dr Alsaffar due to a lump on my neck. At my first appointment he did a needle biopsy, which led to surgery and Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis. He has a great bed side manner and made me feel comfortable and confident with the process. I was referred to an oncologist quickly. I can’t say enough about him and other doctors at the Ottawa Hospital.
