Zero bed side manor. He was dismissive and made me feel stupid for asking questions. When I explained the daily pain I was in, he told me it was not related to my tumour and asked “what do you want me to do about it “. I have been on a wait list for months for surgery .Worse than him is His receptionist. She is very rude and condescending.

My son died of lymphoma at 19. A year before his death we were sent to Dr Corsten. Without any testing, Dr Corsten decided my son was fine. He was verbally cricital of the ER doctor who thought my son should have a biopsy to rule out lymphoma. It took six months for Dr Corsten to agree to perform a biopsy and then only from outside pressure from Queensway Carleton. We found out my son had lymphoma on one of many ER visits. The results had been sitting in Dr Corsten's office while he was on holiday. At this point my son's cancer had progressed to stage four. Six months later my son was dead.

This man saved my life and made me feel like I was in very safe hands. Always polite and kind and courteous and to the point. And he is very humble even though is is the best there is in his field by far. He deserves many thanks and much respect because it’s people like him that give us a second chance at life. We are very lucky to have him in our area. And very fortunate that he decided to do what he does today. Because of his knowledge and know how I am here today.

Dr. Corsten did a hemithyroidectomy on my right side. I see a some complaining about him being quick. He was straight to the point upon my first appointment, I explained to him what was going on, and he said I would need surgery. He explained the procedure and in 2 months I received the call for surgery. The day of the surgery he reassured me I was in good hands, I found him to be very polite and friendly told me if I had any question to call his office. After surgery I went to see him for a follow up appointment it was very quick and to the point, which I loved because it was in downtown Halifax and the faster i can get in out of there the better. He didn't leave me with any questions unanswered, and told me what the next steps were for my recovery. I think he is a very knowledgeable, and although he is quick and to the point I think it's great and I believe others appreciate it as well because his waiting room was full and who wants to wait hours to see a specialist? You want to know what is wrong, and want to know what the solution is.

Dr. Corsten removed a large lipoma from my neck area. You can barely notice the scar and I was left with no residual nerve issues. He is efficient, knowledgeable and gets to the point. While I’m sure some may feel rushed, I appreciated his direct approach, and his being respectful of my time as well.

I was a thyroid cancer patient of Dr. Corsten. I had my questions ready before visiting the doctor to make the appointment more efficient. Dr. Corsten answered all the questions clearly. The surgery was very successful.

His knowledge and medical intuitiveness are dead on. He's a fabulous doctor and I trusted myself and my family with him. There is no better compliment than that!

My mother was a patient of Dr.Corsten's and he is very knowledgeable and on time, however, his bed side manners are another issue. You can experience a feeling of being rushed, feeling like you are a burden and that his time is something you are taking away from him and then you any questions you do have for this man you are lucky to vocie. You cant get a word in edgewise because he speaqks extremely fast and rushes you out the door like there is a fire in the building. We had one experience where he came in the room....he spoke quickly and then he forgot to remove my mothers stiches so we had to come back to remove them. You are a number not a person when it comes to this doctor and I would never see this man even if i was on my death bed. My mother suffered tongue cancer and the experience she went through with this doctor was horrible.
