She was a great obgyn as a first time young mom she really took her time explaining things and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of up to and after birth!
Great OB! She’s super knowledgeable, kind and reassuring. Exceptional care. I struggled with an infection post birth and she offered multiple follow ups to ensure I was treated appropriately and felt cared for. Also offered helpful recovery tips during my 6 week postpartum appointment. Her staff are always so pleasant and helpful. Could not recommend enough!
The best doctor of the birth and delivery triage. She is so helpful and takes her time to help and hear you
My experience with Dr Alarie i that she is very knowledgeable but very intense and shares too much knowledge, too fast. My first appt with her was a phone call and I'm pretty sure she was on a run while she talked. This is fine but she just fired information at me at an alarming speed. I was referred to her for an unusual pap, so she was talking to me about colposcopies, IUDs, cancer at a rate I could not really process. My in-person appts were the same, except then I was in stirrups and had just had the most shockingly painful procedure. As soon as she was done and I was still on the table, she was rhyming off future options and giving me rates of cancer prevention, and the next, way future steps if needed. I didn't and still don't have cancer. She's a lot and I would never describe her as calm and reassuring. I saw her for 4 years now and it was always the same. I often come away a little more confused than when I arrived.
Dr. Alarie is such a fantastic doctor! She made me feel welcome and calm during all my visits and first time surgery. I extremely appreciate that she listened to everything I had to say and made sure no information was left unexplained. Thank you Dr.Alarie!
Dr Alarie is truly the best doctor ever! She is kind and compassionate but also is able to bring humour in to lighten the mood. I’ve never felt so well taken care of than I have during my pregnancy. She is attentive and cautious but not too much to the point of causing unnecessary anxiety. I would and have recommended her to any and all of my pregnant friends!
Dr. Alarie was on call at Grand River for my emergency repeat D&C surgery. I had 2 days prior a very traumatic experience with a different on call doctor for an initial D&C procedure so was so petrified when I got the news I needed to do this procedure a second time. Dr. Alarie was so kind, caring, tried to put me at ease and took the time to call me back to her office a few days after my surgery with her and showed such genuine care for my wellbeing which is so unheard of these days in our medical system. She’s a lovely individual and I’m so glad to have landed in her care. Feel very thankful and blessed!
I have been her patient for a short time and was referred to her by my gynecologist for a laparoscopic procedure which she successfully completed. My gynae wanted to do an open surgery and on my asking had referred me to Dr. Alarie and since then it has been a smooth treatment, Dr. Alarie has a very positive outlook, is knowledgeable, has patience and explains the process in detail and answers all the questions. She even met me just prior to my surgery and put me at ease and so did the anesthetist, it was a good team. Have had a good experience with her till now.
Dr Alarie is literally the reason why I was able to carry my micro preemie to 24 weeks, and she wasn’t even my OB at the time. While I was inpatient at Grand River, she advocated to get me to McMaster, sorted out documented due date that was incorrect in my paperwork so I was able to get to McMaster safely via ambulance at 23 weeks. After I arrived there, was able to get a blood transfusion, antibiotics, steroid shots, magnesium drip, etc etc and managed to keep my daughter in until the 24th week. My daughter today has a tracheostomy and gtube but otherwise pretty healthy and thriving. She definitely would not have survived (and my life could have been in jeopardy) had we had to follow my regular doctor’s plan for my husband to drive me himself to Mac with an actively, chronically abrupting placenta. I can say that with 💯 confidence given that my placenta ended up fully abrupting. Dr. Alarie also completed my total hysterectomy after having had adenocarcinoma in situ removed previously. She made me feel heard and comfortable through the whole process. She’s a gem.
Dr Alarie is an incredible doctor. She listens to my concerns and always takes them seriously. I am so grateful for the care she provides and am lucky to been referred to her!
