Absolute worst experience, Shiv Saxena is the rudest doctor I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. I was told my appointment was interrupting the flow of patients and I should have had to wait 5 hours to be seen at closing. This after I waited 2 hours to be seen. Extremely rude to the nurse and receptionist working as well which I found to be completely unprofessional. I have had wonderful doctors here in the past but after today I will not be returning to this clinic.
My husband and I go to this clinic as it is really close to our home. We also have my husband's doctor there. The staff there are absolutely horrendous! I called on Friday April 17, 2015 to get my husband's inhaler refilled as he only had 1 or 2 puffs left in his. I sent in the request to Shoppers at 8:30 whereas they sent the fax to the doctor at 9:30. I called the clinic at 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm and finally when they closed at 6:00pm to get the walk in doctor (Dr. Light) to fill his prescription (as he had done previously as our doctor was not in). I was told all day that he would have it signed by the end of the day. I called Shoppers periodically to check and nothing was done. I finally called at 6:00pm when they closed and was told by another nurse that the doctor would not sign his refill request as he had not seen him. IF I WAS TOLD THIS AT THE BEGINNING, we would have definitely gone in after work! I was told that there was nothing she could do that the doctor would not sign it. So I stated "You're going to leave my husband without an inhaler for the entire weekend - even though he needs it to LIVE and has so since he was born" and I was just snuffed off with a "I'm sorry, he won't sign it". I am SO angry I could puke. That is NOT how you should treat a patient that has an illness that could KILL HIM if he does not have his inhaler. I am appalled that a doctor, who is supposed to be there to protect mankind would allow him to be left with NOTHING because he was too lazy to sign a damn form. I will be speaking to my family doctor about this and will find some other way to make sure that he and the staff there are reprimanded.
After waiting several hours, it's hit and miss depending on the doctor you get, Regardles of being treated, OHIP is billed once you sign in and your health card is verified. The folliw up appointments never happen (ie/ specialists and even in house doctors aren't booked after your appointment, thereby leaving you waiting for a consult). More than once I've had to go back to the clinic in person only to find out that there's no note in my file about referrals or folliw ups. Ridiculous abuse of the health care system.
