This doctor is absolutely outstanding, both in his proficiency to do complex surgery, but also his ability to explain and articulate exactly what to expect from surgery and possible outcomes. My family member had a brain tumor removed and during this time Dr. Aljishi was so thoughtful and helped make a horrible time for our family more bearable. He took the time to answer all our questions and concerns. I have never meet a doctor who has been so thoughtful, kind and compassionate as Dr. Aljishi. Ultimately, this surgeon saved my family member’s life and I will be forever grateful. With that said, we were recently informed that we would no longer have follow up appointments with Dr. Aljishi as he has been let go from Hamilton General hospital. I can’t not understand why Hamilton General would let go such a talented and respectable surgeon as this one, especially when there are so many people waiting for this type of time sensitive surgery.

Dr. Aljishi removed my cancerous brain tumour 4 weeks ago. I had lost all feeling in my left side before the surgery. Which immediately started to improve after the surgery. He saved my life. The surgery was very challenging and took 7 hours. Luckily I had such a skilled surgeon. I am now receiving radiation and chemotherapy. My family and I had a follow up appointment with him yesterday. He spent over an hour with us, explaining everything in detail and answering questions. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind and patient. We altermately found out that he is being let go from his position at the end of this month, December, 2017. We are absolutely shocked and disheartened. We cannot understand why a brilliant, badly needed neurosurgeon is let go! He deserves the best. Thank you Dr. Aljishi for saving my life. We wish you all the best.

He is a good doctor but did not explain everything to me before the surgery. I am still having lots of pain on​ my back with no good treatment

Dr Alsishi is a wonderful Doctor. I experienced a back injury 30 years ago and had surgery then. It had failed so I was referred to Dr. Aljishi. He new he could greatly improve my standard of living and did !! I am so pleased with my results that I recommend him whenever I can. Not only is he thorough but pleasant and informative. I was lucky to get him and can't thank him enough for he greatly improved my standard of living and I'm so greatful. Christina too , was always pleasant and professional. She's the gem behind Dr Aljishi and he couldn't find a nicer receptionist ! Thanks to you both, for everything !

Dr. Al Jishi has been my neurosurgeon for over a year now and I'm so happy he took over my case.
He has, on many occasions, taken the opportunity to explain the pros and cons of various procedures and tests, and will always take my opinion into consideration.
He also always makes sure that I know what the next steps are going to be in regards to my care before I leave my appointment.
He is also an excellent teacher! I've watched him many times teach different X-ray technicians on how to better read certain implanted medical devices they wouldn't normally see so they can take better images, not just for him, but for the patients as well.
He's a talented neurosurgeon and wonderful person!

Dr Aljishi performed surgery on my sons neck. Explained the possible complications and outcome and is very knowledgeable. He was an amazing Dr to have and has an excellent office assistant.
We would highly recommend him.
