Not a great place. The staff are rude and dismissive. They charge you $30 every time you want to look at your own test results. The oncologists do not follow up and and phone you when you are waiting for life-and-death test results. If you ask a lot of questions you are labelled as a bad patient. There are soiled carpets in the waiting rooms and a TV in the waiting room that hasn't worked in three years. If you are referred to this place---RUN!

I am 31 and went in with a lump in my breast. I did not leave the CIBC until they gave me an ultrasound, mammogram and biopsy that the nurse requested I do immediately. I was so greatful for all the steps they look to look after me.

I have been going to Juravinski cancer center and hospital for the past 18 months and have been treated with care and respect by the lab techs, nurses, and doctors at each of my appointments. I am so grateful this hospital is in Hamilton.

The standards of care at this hospital are inconsistent. It is not entirely the staff's fault. The government needs to step up and ensure hospitals are not understaffed as an obligation to its citizens. Communication is lacking among physicians, nurses, residents and especially with patients and skills in communicating with patients is poor and most often vague. When you check in with a patient and his family, provide your name and role. Be considerate of a patient's age and how they may be feeling. Remember they are ill. Give of your time sufficiently to answer questions instead of looking annoyed at families because you want to get to your next patient. It is about life and death. It is about quality of life. It is about care. The patient means something to someone: he or she is a mother, father, grandparent, spouse, partner, child . The patient is more than a body. Stop looking at them with a clinical eye and begin to see you are treating human beings. Seniors are treated horribly from being told they will be going home, or have no reason to be in hospital and then all of a sudden end up staying. This place is disorganized. Modeling to residents is poor. Some nurses and doctors are outstanding while others lack empathy and complain of having to deal with the worst patients .... in front of patients and family. Staff is in need of professional development. Having stated all this, there are some gems among those that bring the place down. Those gems should be given the role to coach and model to others. This is not just a 9 to 5 job to punch in and out at, but a responsibility to life.

Had melanoma surgery. Dr Young. Now scheduled for radiation treatments. Dr Wright. Great communicators. Didn’t have us leave our appointments until we knew what the next few steps would be.

Not impressed with this hospital. They gave my father false hope and told him an outcome that was very unlikely. They talked him into a treatment plan that should not have been given to him. Their exactly words “your cancer is not only treatable but curable” he passed away 3 months later. After a follow up appointment with his doctor in windsor she admitted she did not agree with this hospitals advice and did not know why they told him what they had.

The horserace guy the place is named after got a huge tax write-off, and the taxpayer gets lousy care.

Nurses working here do not know how to properly communicate with manners..also it seems like as soon as the pt is inthey want them out right away i know they need the beds for others but there is no quality care here.
