Not impressed with this hospital. They gave my father false hope and told him an outcome that was very unlikely. They talked him into a treatment plan that should not have been given to him. Their exactly words “your cancer is not only treatable but curable” he passed away 3 months later. After a follow up appointment with his doctor in windsor she admitted she did not agree with this hospitals advice and did not know why they told him what they had.
I have attended Juravinski for 4 years. Despite having a malignant rare sarcoma I was never worried about this despite a chance my leg might have to be amputated. The care was amazing . After studying my condition I was given the information about this sarcoma and all the steps I would go through for treatment. After radiation finished, right away, they would call me with the next step. Dr. Deheshi rebuilt my interior leg to give me limb sparing surgery and Dr. Avram closed with a skin flap. I am forever thankful for the kindest of care from doctors, interns, medical technicians, nurses and staff in the doctor's offices. When I look at this leg I am filled with thankfulness and gratitude for the experience I will never forget.
I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin's lymphoma in feb 2017 I met with my hemotologist Dr Lepic and the game plan was put in place immediately. We started my treatment and I felt I was treated very well by many staff! Her team of nurses are great! I also had a fever experience in the middle of the night and the on call oncologist called us back immediately and handle my situation very well and had me treated immediately ! Follows up ontime and a schedule was always in place so there was no wondering if I heard things right! Dr Lepic is an amazing Doctor. Super happy she is looking after my life! Grateful for this hospital!
A continuing ...nightmare experience....!!!!! Points of importance which should send up red flags: *Little to nil communication from doctors, medical team. *Patients appear to deteriorate in terms of health and happiness. *Seniors (or anyone) paying tax for well over 50 years should never be brought down to this level. *Seniors are viable citizens of the community (worth their weight in gold). *Horrific Ward staff at Juravinski (Mr. and Mrs. J would be beyond disappointed in their treatment of the elderly!!!) "No one escapes aging and to all those nightmare staff: you too will be there one day!!!!! It is people like you that make growing old such a frightening process!!! I do not expect special treatment for my Dad but I do expect that he will be given every possible opportunity to get well and resume his role as a viable citizen.
After seeing an oncologist, it took 2-1/2 weeks for my results to be sent back to my referring doctor, a dermatologist. Meanwhile, I could not start light therapy treatment because more info was need from the oncologists report. Is that a reasonable time for a doctors report to be transcribed and sent out? Also, I have had a CT scan, and no idea how long those results will take to be sent out - 1 week so far.......
