Ratings for Dr. N. Youssef
He diagnosed me with ADHD in mid 2020. In a second meeting after having bad reactions to ADHD medications at low doses he correctly advised me to not take any medication. Then he pointed me in the right direction for next steps and further assessment. He knows his subject area and is by the book. He speaks to the point but is still kind. His staff were helpful when I had questions.

I've been waiting since November. I had an appointment for April. They cancel without much notice

I also waiting months for an appointment that was canceled without adequate notice to me. Square one, again.

After a wait of many months, Dr. Nagy Youssef cancelled my appointment with 30 minutes notice and no explanation. I was then scheduled in again and being in dire need of the appointment, I cancelled a very important Client meeting at my place of work to accommodate the appointment. His office then cancelled my appointment again, 24 hours prior, with no explanation. Also, the screening forms that his office sent to me prior to the appointment looked completely antiquated and were badly scanned. This office operates with no regard for professionalism, which must say a lot about Dr. Youssef as a doctor and a professional. I will not be continuing with him as a specialist and will seek out a practitioner with a higher regard for professionalism.

Dr Yousseff has been the best. He properly diagnosed me and properly medicated me. He confirmed so much for me and answered a lot of questions about my life that I didn’t understand. He is a man of his word. He is blunt but honest. He is no stranger to giving someone a wake up call if they need it. I was super afraid to go to my first appointment but as we got talking opening up to him was easy. Because of that I finally got the proper help I needed.

I’m not sure why Dr. Youssef has received any negative ratings. I saw him for multiple times over the course of a year and a half and he truly changed my life for the better. I will be forever thankful for him.

Do not visit this doctor. He is not caring and appears rather uninterested. Avoid him at all cost.

I don’t understand why he has such bad comments on here. I’ve been going to him for almost 2 years now and he totally changed my life. He was the only doctor to figure out I had adhd and not depression and was able to come off antidepressants after 5+ years. No he’s not warm and fuzzy and will give you a hug and coddle you, but he’s knowledgeable and he’s going to tell you how it is and be straight up with you. So if you’re a bit sensitive, he’s not the doctor for you. But he was super patient, knowledgeable and very helpful over the nearly 4 months it took to find the right medication for me. If you’re looking for someone to quickly hand you meds, he’s not the doctor for you, but if you’re serious about fixing your adhd And want to be properly assessed he’s great.

They're only open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with limited hours all three days. What an excuse for a medical clinic!! Obviously making large off their clients. I waited 5 months for this appointment and was hoping this clinic could help me. The clinic setup is horrible for someone with DHD. The noise from the secretaries typing and talking loudly as you are trying to fill out their paperwork is unreal. For a medical practice like this with no understanding or consideration to what people with ADHD deal with, I'm truly surprised they are still in business. I was having concentration issues that day and the secretary kept coming over and harassing me about the paperwork not being done. She was rude, ignorant and pushy. She told me that if I didn't finish up that paperwork that I wouldn't be seeing the doctor and I would have to rebook my appointment. She harassed me so bad I left the office crying. I walked out and told her I would rebook later. I spent the next 2 months phoning, trying to reach someone. When I finally got a hold of that nasty secretary again she told me I would never be able to make an appointment with Dr. Youssef again as they were putting me on the PERMANENTLY DENIED list. She told me I have to give them 2 weeks notice if I'm going to cancel my appointment. I explained that as part of my ADHD my emotions sometimes swing, which was why I left. She told me that was no excuse, that I should have given them notice that I was going to cancel. I explained that I don't even get notice when they are going to wander off, so how the heck was I going to give her notice. I told her they were not at all understanding, especially for the type of people they are supposed to treat.

Had no real information for me. I'm new to adult adhd but have been undiagnosed for all my life,
I found resources on the internet and a website for Edmonton adhd on my own. I felt like I had to pull any kind of info out of him, he offered relatively nothing but advice to take meds, said there is nothing else a person can do. Offered zero information for me to learn about it or learn elsewhere, until I pushed for any nugget of help. His attitude was of disinterest. Would have been nice to have him explain what adhd is or what the disorder does, especially since he is on the internet as an adhd specialist. Or be supportive in some way about what's out there. But he said there's really nothing. Can you believe that? And he was the one who got paid to help me directly. Sad.
