waited quite a while in recption to see him...after surgery told him in pain and he said that I could not be in pain due to anesthetic but boy, was I in pain..I had to just bite the bullet and I did not think that was fair

For my first surgery, my wound got infected and he was not interested in getting rid of the infection. Years later I saw him again because my hernia got bad and he said that he could not operate to fix it because it was beyond his expertise. He then said that I should look for another surgeon myself who could perform the surgery and offered no help whatsoever in locating a surgeon for me. He did not even offer to do any tests (ultrasound etc...) on the hernia to see if it needs immediate attention or not. Very unhelpful and uncaring physician.

I met Dr. Moonje at the emergency of the Riverside Hospital back in January 1988. I was 5 month pregnant and my bowel perforated. With his excellent surgical skills and excellent nursing care (sayed hospitalized for most of January) I owe him my life. God bless Dr. Moonje!

I had surgery performed by Dr Moonje last year and although he did his job of removing my gallbladder, the infection I got after the surgery due to the location of an incision, he was very disinterested in. I felt like I was bothering him by coming to see him each week for 8 weeks after my surgery to get my infection cleared up. I should have just gone to my GP and I am sure it would have been cleared up much sooner.

Dr. Moonje is an excellent surgeon, very knowledgeable. I went to see him when I needed urgent surgery and he answered all my questions in a detailed manner and made me feel comfortable. I ended up back in the hospital after my surgery, although it ended up having nothing to do with the surgery, he was there with one of his team members on a Sunday morning to make to sure everything was ok with me and I didn't need any further surgery. He changed my life for the better and I will never forget him.

Great physician! Dr V. Moonje is very knowledgeable, listenned to my complaints and suggested appropriate tests to find to cause of the problem which lead to surgery done by him and his "golden hands"! One in a million!

No wonder we lose our doctors. I really get upset when people say doctors have no bedside manners. Do we go to doctors to be coddled or do we go for advice and treatment. Dr. Moonje is one of the most respected surgeons in Ottawa. He answers all questions in a very detailed manner which is what most of us want. In the last year he has had two knee opertions. Did he stay home and rest - no, he was in his office and the operating room as soon as possible, probably in great pain. If you need to be coddled, get your husband, wife or dog to do it - let's keep our doctors in Canada.
