Personally I think it's a good thing he is retired. He sent me on a wild goose chase.

Sorry for the negativity.

Dr. Longridge is a life saver to me, taking the time to call me and my Doctor to get me back in for more re testing which only confirmed their first diagnoses which in the end I needed to get my Vestibular problem excepted by WCB. I had a Head injury at work causing a Bilateral inner ear Hypo Functioning disorder. WCB had sent me to LifeMark Head Injury program and I was seen and tested by Abeed Hirji a Vestibular/Occupational Therapist who did his test and wrote to WCB that my poor static balance appears far to exaggerated. This statement along with other statements written by Abeed in regards to my dizziness/vertigo, which included suggestive words such as somatoform, malingering, and strongly did not suspect a vestibular problem, was used by WCB in the beginning to not recognize my significant Vestibular problem. I was tested by Dr. Art Mallison who was so kind, understanding, and knowledgable and explained everything to me making me feel so comfortable after my extremely bad experience at LifeMark Head Injury Clinic with Abeed Hirji who was also my primary Occupational Therapist. After testing I saw Dr. Longridge who was as kind, understanding and so knowledgeable, took time to ex[plain my test and answer my questions. The second time I was re tested I had the same experience and same diagnoses which also helped me with getting my Vestibular condition excepted on my WCB claim which in turn helped me get almost a year of Vestibular Therapy from Michelle Aldrich who recognized my Vestibular problem immediately. I am also very grateful to Michelle. I am so grateful for all the research that both Dr. Longridge and Dr. Mallison have done, because living with a Vestibular problem on a daily bases is extremely hard, especially when you have someone like Abeed writing reports stating he strongly does not suspect a Vestibular problem and blamiing my dizziness on emotional problems etc. I am so lucky I was able to see Dr. Longridge before he retired. Without such dedication and caring Doctors like Dr. Longridge and Dr. Mallison and all their research all of us with Vestibular problems would be a lot worst off.

He left my friend lying on his office floor with dizzy spell and told her to make an appt with reception when she could get up...doesn't care about people although I know he knows his field but I'm sick of these people who think because they know something they can treat you like dirt. Compassion is free Dr. Longridge!

I have otosclerosis in both of my ears and Dr. Longridge performned stapedectomy on my right one. He might look and act a little bit unfriendly but the most important thing is he fixed my ear. My hearing is not normal but much better than it was before the operation.

I have had chronic bouts of vertigo for 30 years and first visited Dr. Longridge in the early 1980s. Although his apprach is not overtly warm or personable I feel he has monitored and provided me the knowledge about my conditon over the years. I have also had several vestibular tests and have dealt with his research colleague Art who is equally knowlegeable. Unfortunately, I have learned that much of the ear physiology and (in my case the inner ear is an unknown terrain). I woke up with vertigo in my 20's with no identifable cause. Some years later I experienced a chronic tinnitus problem that again has no known etiology. I think Dr. Longrige and colleagues do the best they can from the current and ongoing research on the ear.
