Dr. Trecarten treated me for panic attack yesterday - helped me immediately. I had them for almost a week - I had seen my family doctor who suggested "talk therapy", even though there was no one to talk to. No I no longer feel there is a gorilla on my chest.

Dr. Trecarten has impeccable bedside manner, he is extremely well-spoken and knowledgeable, he comes off as non-judgemental and caring, and is all around one of the best doctors I’ve ever met with. Unfortunately, the safer supply program in Ontario is designed to help the unproductive junkies of society, who knowingly sell their daily prescriptions off to support their DoC, leaving people such as myself without any help. The program has so many flaws I don’t know where to begin. It benefits those who don’t want to get better and are just using this to support their habits, leaving the middle-class who work and pay taxes at the wayside. Most of us became dependent on painkillers in the first place from doctors overprescribing, yet when it comes time to help they offer terrible alternatives unless your habit is bad enough to get into the safer supply program. I could tell he truly wanted to help my situation more but was simply unable to because of how the program is designed. Just when I thought I had a breakthrough and met a doctor who finally seemed to care and listen to my concerns, it turns out I’m simply not enough of a street junkie to get in. I’m absolutely lost and beyond depressed with my situation. If you’re seeking help for mental health and addiction-related issues, look no further. This doctor is as good as it gets. Sadly, the flaws in the program has prevented me from benefiting from his help and good nature, and as a result I’ll be stuck suffering for the foreseeable future unless my situation worsens. What a conundrum. Regardless, I hold no ill will towards this doctor and hope our paths cross again some day.
