I saw Dr. Costain at the Ottawa Civic Emergency yesterday, and extremely busy day and evening. As others have noted, good bedside manner, compassionate, calm, professional. I realized after I left that his first two names are almost the inverse of my grandfather's only two names.

I can definitely see why he’s a 5 star rated Dr. I met Dr. Contain at the civic emerge after my fender bender. I had horrifying visual hallucinations the day after and he was so sweet, caring, reassuring (and handsome to-boot!) After diagnosing me with a concussion he made sure all my questions were answered, provided me all my discharge info, and referred me to the concussion clinic. Total time in emerge- 4ish hours, but after Dr. Contain’s diagnosis I was d/c probably within 20 mins. AND he apologized for that wait!! I’m swooning now, but if you’re reading this, I just want to say thank you!

Dr. Costain is a kind and compassionate doctor. He goes the extra mile to see if he can diagnose what the problem is.

I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Costain in emerg last evening. Excellent bedside manner, knowledgeable and caring. Explained everything thoroughly to both myself and the student assisting. If ever he decides to go into private practice I would hope to become one of his patients!

My husband and I met Dr. Costain at the Ottawa Civic Emergency Room last evening. He was professional but also genuine, helpful and caring. Similar to what a previous reviewer remarked, Dr. Costain set our minds at ease with a calming joke. That certainly helped a great deal to remove some of our stress. Thank you very much Dr. Costain! You are certainly in the right line of work and we are most grateful for both your expertise and your patient-focused demeanor. I have no doubt those attributes will continue to enrich your career!

Knowledgeable, caring emergency doctor. He took the time and explained everything when I was at the Emergency at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Clinic.

Dr. Costain dealt with my Dad in the observation area at the Ottawa General hospital. He was kind, compassionate and honest about about was happening and asked us what WE wanted and why WE brought him to the hospital. Dr. Costain listened to our concerns and explained that our father was dying and how we could support him and our family members, especially my Mom. He helped us take our father home where we passed away 2 days later surrounded by the entire family.
