To reiterate what another previous patient said, once you have your first appointment with this doctor you’ll never hear from him again. I was so positively surprised when I spoke to him during our first meeting because I was met with kindness, understanding, he had a breadth of knowledge, was non judgemental, had a game plan for testing and what I’d take in the mean time. He also sends you info sheets so which is incredible idea in patient education. The most professional. Unfortunately the prescription antihistamine he put me on started causing severe chest pain and like palpitations or quick changes in heart rhythm. The chest pain radiates to my upper back and down my left side. I don’t personally have any cardiac history, however I have a family history of heart attacks at a young age including one of my parents. I called the pharmacist first who told me to stop it immediately and try to speak with my doctor as this could be a side effect (long QT prolongation). After leaving messages at their office, I never heard anything. So I obviously stopped taking it, but what if I had/have a major cardiac event and with no advise, kept taking it? All I needed was a quick phone call from the receptionist to say, “hey, he said stop it - wait until your next appointment with him to discuss other options.” It’s too bad that doctors take on more patients than they can follow up with. I can’t really blame him, he’s obviously excellent and just can’t keep up with the demand. But as a patient with chronic illness, it’s tough when you hit road blocks constantly in your care perpetuating a hopelessness. We just want what can help us function like everyone else.
