I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Leone. The health issues I have had are tough to talk about so I won't name a prognosis or treatment received. Suffice it to say that Dr Leone was compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional at all times and had a lovely dry sense of humour that was an unexpected but greatly appreciated and beneficial gift.

Dr Leone has been my urologist since 2005 - He is a great person, very kind and super knowledgeable. He cares and always suggests the right medications and has carried out several tests related to my prostate. Thanks for everything dear Dr. Leone.

Loved my first meeting with Dr Leone. Fantastic and a gem! He was funny, personable, and super knowledgeable. Knew exactly what I was going to say next. No long waits at all. Minutes of checking in I saw him. Although he didn't think there was anything wrong from the conversation, he still wanted to be sure. Got my ultrasound and then the Cystoscopy. Wait at hospital was about 40 minutes. Procedure less than 5 minutes. He was great. He remembered our conversation from months prior and was extremely professional. Thank you Dr Leone.

Last week I visited Dr. Leone. Wow! This man is amazing. He is approachable and highly knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions which my family doctor couldn’t answer. He cared and reassured that nothing was worrisome. He is definitely someone I can trust and rely on even though I had only 10 minutes to chat with him.

Dr. Leone’s staff is definitely nice to patients, but not to other staff. On that day, I heard from one of the girls “do I need to tell you where to sit every day?” Unsure if what I heard had come from a supervisor or manager, I was quite surprised to witness this in a healthcare setting under Dr. Leone’s lead. That girl treated Dr. Leone’s staff like talking to dogs. I spoke to the poor little girl privately just before I left the clinic to try supporting her, but with a sweet smile and tact, she said to me “The three doctors’ patients are my patients too. That is what I care about most.” I guess she didn’t need my support after all. As a retired Human Resources director, I had enough experience to be able to tell you Dr. Leone… that this girl is something else. You’ve got a gem here.

I read reviews for everything including doctors and while some had bad reviews here, you cannot tell until you go for yourself.
I have been searching for a Uro who would do a cystoscopy under sedation as money others refused. I was glad to find Dr Ercole. From the start to the exit, my experience was 5 stars
Staff was so soft spoken, and professional. When I met the Dr. he understood my issue within 2 minutes and agreed that I should do under sedation and that was music to my ears
As luck would have it, an assistant of another Uro who refused this told me about this as she used to work here many years ago.
I am glad I found him, I will write further after my surgery

I first met Dr. Leone when I was 80 and had a bladder bleed. He immediately diagnosed bladder cancer and removed the tumour successfully. Since that time, I had a successful prostate TUPR and, more recently, scrotal surgery where Dr. Leone scoped for possible return of bladder cancer. Now at 86, there has been no return of the bladder cancer and my scrotal operation was successful. Feeling very grateful to Dr. Leone’s surgical skill, warmth and care in all my urinary needs. Thank you. I will end by mentioning that the office staff is cordial and efficient.

I went into emergency one Saturday, and CT scan showed I had a kidney stone. I was referred to see Dr. Leone the following Monday, and had the kidney stone removed the next day. I was quite surprise that I had the kidney stone removed in a manner of a few days. Perhaps, Dr. Leone felt the urgency to remove it as the stone was in the ureter which lead to my ectopic kidney. I appreciate that Dr. Leone dealt with it so quickly. I found Dr. Leone to be professional, gentle and caring in manner and in speech. His office staff are professional, polite and helpful.

Dr. Ercole Leoni, you have given me my life back, I could not be happier.
You had given me transurethral resection of the prostate (TURPs) in September of 2016, for a blocking urinary track for an enlarged prostate; I then moved to Kamloops and got a new Urinary Doctor.
It was months before I regained control of urination. Later on I then experienced a lot of urinary infections, catheter to empty the bladder because of a blockage, major bleeds, blood clots etc. etc.; many many Emergency Hospital stays.
Later on, I experienced dull pain when sitting on seats, had to resort to sitting on a “donut” air inflated tube to relieve the pain.
I had to go on to wearing Depends as the urgency to urinate was “NOW, no holding back”; truly embarrassing times. Soiled many a pair of underwear and outside pants.
Blood clots then became the norm, sometimes blocking my ability to urinate. Some would then shoot out with such a force that I’d miss the toilet bowl all together. Many cleanups ensued.
Sometimes a clot would block at the end of the penis, and urine would squirt out to the right and left at the same time, totally missing the toilet bowl again.
Carrying a Urinary Bottle also became the norm now.
When carrying the urinary bottle, I noticed that with each urination, I was passing 50 to 200 mini clots per urination (pepper grain to 3/8 of an inch in size). Later on I would pass clots that were 8 to 12 inches long. I thought they were tape worms, but the smell of iron told me they were pure blood.
I was not happy with my Urologist in Kamloops, as they wished to do another TURPs.
I had my physician make an appointment with you, as you took care of my many kidney stones when living in the Vancouver area, plus my first TURPs.
At our first meeting on Tuesday September 18, 2018, you looked at me with all of my paraphernalia, Urine bottle, donut cushion and bag of Depends. “What is this Phil?” “This is my new life Dr. Leoni”.
You immediately went to your clerical staff and made an appointment for me to get a Cystoscopy of my Prostate and Bladder for Friday September 21, 2018.

On September 21 you looked inside and stated “you need surgery, Prostate is exceptionally large, many clots and bleeds". You made an appointment for a Simple Prostatectomy surgery, for October 31, 2018. Super quick.
At Mount St. Joseph, to me; the Simple Prostatectomy was very quick. While in the Recovery Room I came out of the Anesthetic at approx. 10:15 – 10:30, surgery was at 8:00. The nurses, you and Dr Hogarth checked on me quite a bit, I felt so taken care of, Nurses Buljit and Magda were awesome as well as Ray the Anesthetist.
While in my Hospital Room, I was given the Pain Inhibiter Fentanyl. I was to use it every 6 minutes, one pump; for pain. I used it 5 times in 30 hours. No real pain.
The only pain I had was when a Blood Clot blocked the catheter, you came up and flushed it out; pain was immediately gone. Dr Hogarth and you checked on me many times, and the nursing staff were very attentive. I could not have asked for better care.
I had no quality of life for 2+ years; until now.
I’d recommend the Simple Prostatectomy over the TURPs any time, quicker recovery time, less overall pain and hopefully fewer future complications.

TURPs is a quick fix that will need to be remedied again later on. Go for the real op and get it fixed the first time.
“A thank you” to you and your entire staff for giving me my life back.
“Absolutely thrilled”
Phil Crossley
