I have been using The Sage Clinic for several months and I have found Rahima to be very knowledgeable, listens very well, compassionate and puts my needs ahead the need to sell services or supplements. The other partners and staff at The Sage Clinic are very friendly and accommodating whenever I am at the clinic for a treatment. I highly recommend The Sage Clinic to both my friends and family.

I have been seeing Dr. Hirji for quite sometime (approx. 9 years) for various reason which have included fertility treatment and weight loss due to my high sugar levels. Dr. Hirji's treatments are safe and affordable and do not require herbal medicines. Her guidance and fertility treatments were successful as I have a beautiful little girl who is now 7! I'm currently seeing
Dr. Hirji for support with weight loss. By changing my diet, using her suggestions, I have seen a significant improvement with my overall health. Thank you Dr. Hirji for all the help over the years. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that is looking for a Naturopath.

I have nothing but positive things to say for Dr Rahima! She is very knowledgeable and willing to listen to the "stumbling blocks" which might get in the way of moving forward and figure out a way to work around them. Her team around her is, just that, a team. and they work together to support you in restoring your body to balance. I enjoy her sense of humour and compassion whenever I am in.

She is always late for every appointment and then cuts the appointment short. On multiple occasions she has left the room to go help another patient. She may appear to be compassionate but she often talks a lot about herself.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. I am sorry that you had a bad experience at the clinic. In the last several months, we introduced an online scheduler and often ran into problems with overbookings. We have since revised our booking guidelines and are very diligent in making sure that we do not overbook. Although it can’t always be avoided due to last minute patients that need to get in due to medical distress. I also focus on infertility and sometimes patients that are undergoing fertility treatments need to get in and we make them a priority. We generally don’t cut appointments short and if we do, we make sure we adjust the billing accordingly. Please let us know if you feel that you were overcharged and we will be happy to rectify the situation for you.

It is true that I talk about myself (perhaps a lot!). It is my style. In my many years of practice I have found that talking about myself with patients helps to put them at ease, and helps them understand that we all struggle and need support sometimes. Granted, it is not a style everyone appreciates. Some people prefer a more formal approach to their healthcare and I can certainly understand that. I was obviously not the right fit for your needs.

I hope that you have since found someone to provide you with the care that you need. We are lucky that there are several very good NDs in KW and I am sure one of them will have a style that suits you better.

In health,
Dr. Rahima, ND

Dr. Rahima is professional and has a wealth of knowledge. Above all, she cares about her patients and takes her time to truly listen and understand before making any sort of suggestion. Dr. Rahima is NEVER after anyone's money; she will be very clear with patients and let them know that unless they are willing to take the steps they need to take to improve their health, it is a waste of money for them to see anyone. From a personal perspective, my struggle with PCOS has been treated by Dr. Rahima and I have seen significant improvements since seeing her. In addition, she has given me valuable tips and supplements to manage my life with a stressful career and a lot on the go. She is extremely intelligent and compassionate and I'm so lucky to have her as my doctor. I recommend her to anyone and everyone and will continue to do so.

The treatments were fairly expensive and after I finished them everything just came right back. Her suggestion was to take another course of the treatment. She also seemed to focus too much on getting me to change my diet, which wasn't perfect but is much better than most and certainly not the reason I was having the symptoms I had. When I asked her about herbal options she said she doesn't use them. She just sells expensive supplements from her store. After spending lots of money I got no improvement and realized she was not going to be able to treat me.

Rahima Hirji's response
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, people need to spend months and sometimes years before the treatments have a cumulative effect and start to make a prolonged difference. Often, we will say that it will take a month of treatments for every year you have been unwell. I may not have made the long-term commitment clear and for that, I apologize.

I focus on diet. We eat everyday. What we consume will have an enormous effect on our overall health. In my practice, I believe nothing can be healed without working on diet and gut.

I do not prescribe herbals because they are actually more costly than the combination capsules and powders we carry and the herbal tinctures often taste horrendous. In my experience, people will purchase herbals based on a recommendation and then the bottle will be left untouched due to the inconvenience and taste. Instead we sell combination herbal capsules, vitamins, minerals and other professional combinations that have better patient compliance.

It is true that they can be expensive. We keep our markup to industry minimums but certainly, it would be nice if the supplements were OHIP covered.

I hope that you have found a practitioner that has been able to help you and that you are feeling better.

In health,

Dr. Rahima, ND

Dr Rahima is compassionate and caring about her patients. She respects treatment plans provided by my medical doctors and incorporated a plan that compliments and boosts the medical plan. Rahima understands that a lot of change in one's lifestyle can be overwhelming and is patient and supportive as the journey unfolds. I'm so happy I took a holistic approach to my health with Rahima!

Dr Rahima is one of the best naturopathic doctors in Waterloo Region. Her knowledge of naturopathic medicine and dedication to always put the patients first makes her stand out from the crowd. Dr. Rahima is very professional, caring and does not upsell patients on unnecessary supplements and treatment plans. I highly recommend paying her a visit at her new office on Queen Street in Kitchener. 10 out of 10!

I came to Dr. Hirji regarding a variety of issues; she was able to walk me through the steps I needed to take myself & recommended several holistic methods to address them including acupuncture, IV therapy & supplements. I'm very happy w/ my progress & that I wasn't provided any "band-aid" solutions & have always been happy w/ the services provided by herself & her staff.
