Worsted experience ever. Staff lost the referral 3 times. Finally got an appointment. Waited over 3 hours to see him and was dismissive. Poor bed side manner as well.

Dr.Halman performed Shoulder Relacement surgery for our 82 yr old father in November 2023. We are so pleased. Firstly, his assistant is very friendly, organized and professional and appointments were always on time. Secondly, he communicated with other doctors (ie. cardiologist) to address best timing and any additional risks for surgery. Most importantly, the surgery went very well. There was very little pain management required post surgery and now at the 6 month point, the shoulder range is excellent and he is pain free. It was a great experience and we're grateful.

Incredibly dismissive, lazy, and unknowable. After waiting over an hour an half he simply said talk to you your gp. If I’ve been referred to him by my gp clearly there’s something he could do. After asking him for clarity he simply responded “what do you want me to do”. Additionally, his advice was to do exercise. He is a great example as to why there are disparities in healthcare between men and women and why most of women’s issues go undiagnosed or unmonitored. I'd give him a lower rating if possible.

I am writing this review literally an hour after getting home from a complete shoulder replacement and with one had because I want to get it done. Dr Halman is amazing, kind and considerate ad well. He’s amazing at what he does and he and the entire HRRH team made me feel completely at ease from preop to recovery. They were kind, caring and attentive the whole way through. Piera was also very kind and helpful with all the surgery details and I am forever grateful to all.

Went to see Dr Halman this week and my appointment was not pleasant or thorough. I was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in ER. He was very dismissive when I told him that I had fallen again since my original ER visit. I asked him if he would order another x-ray because of my subsequent fall, he said no. He seems to have an attitude problem with a disgusted, impatient look on his face. . Yes he may be a good procedural doctor in his field and have a satisfactory reputation, but he is not a god and he should remember that. He is no more important or valuable than anyone else in the world. Also, he shouldn't make any negative assumptions of patients, with a demeanor that comes across as that you are something from the bottom of his shoe. I left the hospital feeling like I had done something wrong or stupid. No one should feel like that after seeing a doctor.

Worst physician and staff members ever. No updates, never answers phones, refuses to see me in person and refers me to physiotherapy when I don't even have an MRI. What are you sending me to physio for without knowing all the details? They are not helping me at all and my condition is getting worse and worse.

What a difference a year makes. This time last year, Dr Halman did an initial assessment of my painful hip. He swiftly concluded I had end-stage osteoarthritis and needed a hip replacement. He booked me into the Humber River Fracture Clinic to meet with a colleague who specializes in hip & knee. I had 2 hip surgeries at Humber River Hospital last summer and outstanding care, with oversight by Dr Halman. Later, Dr Halman went on to examine my aching and deforming wrists and hands, and suspected I might have rheumatoid arthritis. He referred me to an excellent rheumatologist practicing at Womens College. And he referred me to a colleague plastic surgeon who has advised me on surgical correction for a contracted finger. So now this May, I have a well working new hip, treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, and will get my finger corrected at some point. All thanks to Dr Halman.
