Dr. Vendittoli performed my total knee replacement surgery 2 weeks ago at the Duval Orthopedic Clinic. I highly recommend Dr. Vendittoli as well as the Duval Clinic itself. I am deeply grateful for the care I received. It was clear that every component of my care was carefully designed to provide not only exemplary, leading-edge surgical techniques and tools, and enhanced recovery after surgery, but also exemplary patient-centred care from all members of the interdisciplinary team. Dr. Vendittoli and the team were clearly devoted to “putting the patient first” in every way, to optimize my physical and emotional comfort as well as my surgical outcome. Kindness, respect, and compassion were evident in every interaction.
I was perhaps especially moved by this experience because I am living with severe obesity, which has sometimes led to negative encounters in other health care settings. Instead, respectful, thoughtful accommodations were made when indicated, without any hint of judgment. Also, in the public health care system I was denied surgery unless I reached an arbitrary BMI of 40, which I felt was probably an unrealistic expectation. By contrast, Dr. Vendittoli did not consider my BMI of 50 to be a barrier to surgery. So here I am, two weeks post-op, right on track with my recovery, and deeply grateful and excited by my awareness that this surgery will be life-changing, and that I will have a much brighter future than I had previously thought was possible for me.

À 70 ans moins des poussières, j'ai subi une arthroplastie des deux hanches, le 19 février dernier, réalisée par le Dr Vendittoli à la Clinique orthopédique Duval. De bon conseil, il a été très attentif à l'expression de mes grandes douleurs, à mes nombreuses interrogations et à mes attentes par rapport à ma qualité de vie et à mes activités de loisirs (kayak de mer, pêche en rivière, ski de fond, etc. ) à poursuivre. Après 9 jours, je marchais - avec canne seulement- à l'extérieur pendant 20 minutes et faisais du tapis roulant. Après 13 jours, je montais et descendais de grands escaliers en alternant les jambes sans difficulté. De jour en jour, je redécouvre la mobilité perdue. Les douleurs normales afférentes à la chirurgie sont très bien controlées. Le plus miraculeux, outre la disparition totale des douleurs atroces d'avant la chirurgie, c'est que je ne sens aucune différence entre mes hanches naturelles et les prothèses. Un magicien? Assurément, un chirurgien orthopédiste hors du commun sur les plans connaissances, expériences, technologiques, etc. et dont la rencontre aura changé la trajectoire de ma route.

J’ai été opéré pour un remplacement total du genou par le Dr Venditolli à la clinique Duval le 16/01/2024. Chirurgien exceptionnel très compétent et très bon communicateur.

Dr Vanditolli a fait le remplacement de ma hanche en juillet 2023. Je peux dire que lui et son équipe sont des professionnels jusque dans les détails. Ils m’ont très bien expliqué la procédure et ils ont été à la hauteur des représentations. Aujourd’hui, je me sens mieux que 10 ans auparavant. Merci.

Médecin excellent à tous points de vue. Lorsque on est à la clinique Duval, on se croirait sur une autre planète via le public. On y respire l'excellence pour tous les services.

I had a total hip replacement in June 2023. Dr Vendittoli and his team did the surgery. The surgery and recovery went perfectly. My physiotherapist, who has many years experience and specializes in hip and knee replacement therapy, remarked that she had never seen such a small surgical incision. The care at the clinic, both pre- and post- op, was very attentive and caring. I left the clinic the morning after the surgery and felt that I made the best decision for my health and recovery. I can’t imagine doing better.

The Total Hip Replacement at the Duval Orthopaedic Clinic was the best decision I made. My initial consultation with Dr. Vendittoli was on September 24, 2021 at which time I decided to proceed with the surgery. The information provided, before and during surgery was excellent. A very informative manual was provided to follow procedures before, during and after surgery. My surgery was performed on October 8, 2021 and I was discharged 2 days later with the ability to walk with only the aid of a cane. The ERAS (Early Recovery After Surgery) program developed by Dr. Vendittoli and his team is amazing and hopefully will be adopted by ALL public hospitals. All the staff at the clinic were exemplary during the entire stay. Best of al, I never experienced any pain whatsoever post surgery, no longer limp, and am able to resume my daily activities. Post surgery physiotherapy is an important factor in recovery. Thank you to Dr. Vendittoli and all his team!

Further to my initial review of a Total Hip Replacement (left side), which was performed on October 08, 2021, I am adding a second review for the Total Hip Replacement (right side) performed on May 19, 2022.

The initial review stated that the left side hip replacement (October 08, 2021) was the best decision I made. The right side hip replacement (May 19,2022) was the second best decision I made.

For the right side hip replacement, once again and as previously experienced, all the excellent and important preoperative information procedures were clearly explained.

On the day of my surgery, the anaesthesiologist's technique of performing a spinal block (most recent technology) vs. an epidural (for 1st surgery) was truly incredible. I did not even realize that the spinal was completed so efficiently and painlessly. The advantage of the spinal block allowed me to recover extremely quickly and within a fraction of an hour in recovery, I was transferred back to my room. Dr. Vendittoli, who also performed my first surgery, has an excellent reputation for a very good reason! My incision was only a few inches long and I am amazed at how the procedure may be performed within such a small incision.

A few hours post surgery, the physiotherapy team had me up to begin the initial exercises. Wow, I did not have ANY pain nor did I require any opioid painkillers at any time neither during my hospital stay nor at any time after my discharge. The following morning, physiotherapy continued my recovery exercises with the possibility of a discharge in the afternoon. I was now permitted to walk about with the aid of only a cane! Dr. Vendittoli, together with his team, assessed my speedy recovery and by mid afternoon I was given the green light for departure home, to where I would continue the very important post surgery physiotherapy exercises.

As I had experienced during my first surgery, the entire staff at the Duval Orthopaedic Clinic were exemplary and it was a pleasure to be a patient in this facility!

The CLSC provided physiotherapy sessions and nursing wound care, which was excellent at my recovery location. To be noted, these professionals were amazed at my recovery progress. During the first physio session (1 week post surgery) I was assessed as being at the third week post surgery recovery! Both professionals commented at the remarkable recovery difference they see between the private clinics, (in my instance, the Duval Orthopaedic Clinic) and the public system. This speedy recovery is thanks to Dr. Vendittoli and his team who developed the ERAS (Early Recovery After Surgery).

Thank you Dr. Vendittoli and your entire team who made my two Total Hip Replacements such a remarkable success. I am able to resume my active life style quickly and painlessly!
