In my mind, his picture should be in the dictionary under the word "physician", since he's really my ideal of what a doctor should be. He's never late, yet he always takes time for a quick chat about about things we've discussed over the years. Apart from considerable medical expertise, he is an excellent cataract surgeon -- always respectful and caring. I really enjoy my visits to his office,

I have been one of Dr. Delpero’s patients for many years now. Yesterday he performed cataract surgery on my right eye. The experience was good and my vision change is incredible. Looking forward to getting my left eye done in January. Dr. Delpero has always been prompt with appointments and very efficient. He clearly explains everything and always accurately answers questions. He has a great crew in his office who are efficient and personable.

As the following letter excerpts indicate, Dr. Walter Delpero is essentially a good Ophthalmologist. He could have remained as my eye doctor to the end of my days if he and or some of his staff focused more on compassionate consideration of intrinsic patient benefits and accommodation of their actual needs and wishes.

April 2020
Dear Dr. Walter Delpero. Thank you for the prescription refill. …………
And please, Dr. Delpero, ask your staff to stop harassing me about going through a Pharmacy for medication refill issues. ……… In the January case, it took me 4 trips to your office to resolve a dosage error when a simple costless office action would have saved me unbearable complications, stress, anxiety, and runaround costs. ……………….. Respectfully.
March 2021.
Dear Dr. Walter Delpero. Further to the office December letter, on your behalf, I would like to point out that …………..your diagnosis for my condition was “glaucoma risk” that is averted by medication to reduce or eliminate pressure on the optic nerve. The medication you prescribed is excellent. ..…………..as your pressure tests continue to confirm that fact.
While I have never felt that the six month appointment rule was necessary in my case, I did comply except once in 2020. So, the ultimatum from your office to request a six month appointment or go somewhere else for ophthalmology services is unwarranted and out of place especially in a Covid pandemic period. …...................... This is unfortunate because given the success of the cataract replacement in my left eye, I was hoping you would do the same for the right eye as agreed in our August appointment. Regretfully, that will not happen simply because it seems that I do not fit in your office iron clad business formula. …………… But regardless, thanks all the same for the many years of reasonable good eye health.

Currently, my medication supply and right eye cataracts are at the end of their life and a search of a replacement Ophthalmologist is like climbing an impossible mountain. It makes me wonder if putting up with doctor office suppression for the rest of my life wouldn’t have been an easier burden. But the bright side in all this is that going blind might be a lesser evil.

Had cataract surgery on my right eye. Dr. Delpero was very informative prior to my surgery. I was taken care by all support staff prior and during the surgery. It's amazing the sight I have in this eye now! Going back to get the left eye done too! Thanks Dr. Delpero and his great team. I would highly recommend Dr. Delpero and his team.

Absolutely disinterested in finding a solution to my problem. Seemed annoyed when I asked questions and quickly agreed to prescribe whatever ai suggested just to get me put of his office. No follow up. Disheartening.
