This doctor saw me one time and had me fill out multiple choice tests and decided in 35 minutes that he knew everything about me and tried to put me on a cocktail of medication. He’s out of date and is a danger to people who need help. Don’t allow him to diagnose you on one visit. He is unprofessional and any doctor that tells you he knows after 30 mins of talking to you is a danger to society.

I have been a patient of Dr.Cattan for over 20 years.
I believe he’s one of the best psychiatrists in Ottawa.
He is kind, caring, knowledgeable and very professional doctor. I’m very grateful to have him with me all these years. Thank you so much Dr. Cattan

This doctor is very unprofessional . He cross the line many time. When I confronted him he became arrogant rather than apologetic.

He harrassed me for days to fill out forms with him (unethical), he couldn't send them in English (only in French). He called me at home on Sunday and every other day (even at 7:30 in the morning and at 8pm) until the day I was supposed to see him. Finally got him on the phone and all he did was berate me for not filling out forms he never sent and how he called me and I didn't answer.
If he called me and I didn't answer, he ran to tell the insurance company. Everything was always my fault and he talked over me the entire time I was in the phone with him until I hung up because he's not allowed to abuse me because it goes both ways.
He's an extortionist and is in the take from the insurance and pharmaceutical companies. From his manner and how he made my insurance company pay for reading what other doctors had already evaluated based in what I had already told them, he's a grifter. He's also a narcisstist with a god complex. How many poor Canadians has this guy ripped off and ruined for his ego?
If you are still getting booked with this guy, run!!! Just refuse to have an appointment with him. He shouldn't be practicing still.

I went to see this doctor 10 years ago for symptoms related to childhood trauma. He prescribed a ridiculous amount of antipsychotic medication that I consumed, assuming he knew what he was doing. I was suffering and had to trust that he was competent. This man and his loose prescription pad set me on a course that resulted in a 100 pound weight gain and hospitalizations for pharmaceutically induced psychosis. All I really needed was a referral to a psychologist! Until him, I was functional and had a career. Yes, I struggled with anxiety but nothing that warranted the medications he prescribed. A decade later, having left him and seeking proper support, recognize that I am a psychiatrist survivor. I have also lost all the weight and enjoy a good life.

Dr. Cattan is my doctor now for 11 years. He has earned my trust with his knowledge and expertise, but also because he is caring and compassionate. He is honest but tactful. Gives good advice and is respectful. I recommend him highly.

I was referred to Dr.Cattan at the age of 15. In one sit down session he determined I needed to be put on a cocktail of 3 or 4 different medications including medication for schizophrenia. He managed to belittle me and acted condiscending and smerky if I disagreed with him about my mental health. But it actually turns out! Im not schizophrenic or bipolar at all! I was just a 15 year old girl suffering trauma from sexual assualt not knowing how to cope. So I didnt need to be put on such a strong medication cocktail at such a young age. But Dr.Cattan would of known that if he actually would of listened to me instead of insisting I have schizophrenia or bipolar when I DONT. This man was not professional or friendly and is around 50 years outdated in his practice. His prescription cocktail of medication did nothing but make me sick.

This doctor saved my life. Anyone complaining is making up excuses for some other non related issue. You were either not honest with him, or did not follow your treatment. In any case, he is retiring and these comments are a moot point. I for one am glad to be well for once in my life.

Why hasn't there been a class action suite against this guy, this is Malpractise.
