With a sense as important as ones eyes it is critical one has the best care that is correct and on a timely basis. There are no "do overs". I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Jackson. I am concerned to learn that there is some organization restructuring underway and he will no longer follow his current caseload (we will be referred to an incoming opthamologist)and only do new consults. I am very disappointed that someone as knowledgeable and competent as he is would be asked to take on less work when the need is so great. His is a talent that should be used to its fullest and not be limited due to (what I understand is) budget contraints at the Eye Institute.

He is very knowledgeable, calm, soft spoken and professional. He and all the staff at the Eye Institute explained procedures in easy to understand terms. Clinic appointments were on time, staff were very helpful and answered any questions with patience.

I was referred by Dr Lane in Lindsay. Dr. Jackson was truly a wise choice for Dr Lane. He is considerate, kind, helpful, and understanding of the needs of his patients. Three cheers for Dr Jackson.

Dr. Bruce Jackson is the best eye specialist in Canada and among the best in the world. I have heard it said that Ottawa built the Eye Institute to lure him away from The Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. This was a very smart move. I have am the third generation of my family to suffer from a very serious genetic based eye condition. Unfortunately, two of my children have inherited this gene. Dr. Jackson treated me over 25 years ago in Montreal. Last year, he treated our teenage son for the same ailment. But for the treatment of Dr. Jackson, both my son and I would have permanently lost our vision in one eye. Dr. Jackson is not only an outstanding clinician, his compassion and sensitivity are also second to none. You will not find a nicer, kinder, more gentle person than Dr. Jackson. On a scale of 5—Dr. Jackson is a 10!

Dr. Jackson is an incredibly intuitive eye specialist. If I was once again dealing with an unusual eye disorder this is the man I'd want to see. He is not daunted by things he does not know or has never seen before, and he enlightens his fellows and residents whenever a unique case comes in. He talks through what he is doing, using lay terms so the patient can understand. He considers an exhaustive list of possibilities in the face of a new symptom or sign, and is humble enough to admit it when he does not know what is going on. He will, however, go above and beyond the call to find out the answers. If my child had eye trouble Dr. Bruce Jackson is the ONLY doctor I would trust with his vision.

Very knowledgable, provides excellent information in a 'lay' manner which makes eye examinations and general eye care understandable.
