Awful doctor who should not be doing anything related to women’s health. Get referred to someone else!!! Stay away!!!

Dr covens is the best … who cares about his manners it’s his work and his knowledge.. so people if you don’t feel the same .. move on but don’t slag him .. he’s number one .. I would do it all over again with only this amazing dr .

I was fortunate to find Dr Covens to care for my sister during her battle with ovarian cancer. He immediately came up with a plan of action. He was able to give her two extra years which we were all very thankful for. Our family will be grateful for the care, kindness, and compassion that he showed to our sister. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

He didn't come to visit me after my surgery or reach till after 5 weeks. When he came to us an update he left without taking all our questions and seemed very irritated. I wouldn't recommend this man as a doctor since he has zero comppassion and zero emotional intelligence. I would give him minus if possible.

I am a 25 years old female. I was referred to Dr. Covins for removing an ovarian mass suspicious for malignancy. My entire experience with Dr. Covens was beyond disappointing. He met with my family and I for the initial consult. He was extremely insensitive and rude while I was crying and trying to grasp the horrible news. I told to myself at least he is a experienced surgeon. However after my surgery there was a complication and I lost a lot of blood which led to me being held in recovery for more than 7 hours. The day after, Dr.Covens team (a few residents) came to my bedside and told me that there was another tumour on my other ovary and that they had to remove everything including my uterus. Imagine receiving this news less than 24 hours after my surgery while I was dying from pain all alone without any family support. The worst part about it was that the news was false and I did not have to remove my uterus. Afterwards, I was too exhausted to seek legal actions. However, to this date I cry when I think back to that interaction. My follow-up appointment after the surgery was re-scheduled twice. When I finally went to the appointment Dr. Covens did not even bother to show up! He sent his resident who did not even know my case to see us. When we asked his assistant for him, he came angrily and did not even bother to sit down with my family and I and just said that I need another surgery without any further explanations. I asked for a referral to Princess Margaret following this behaviour. My experience at PM was wonderful! I highly recommend getting a referral to PM.

When I was referred to dr Covens, I got scared by these reviews which is why I don’t want others to feel like I did. My entire experience with him was amazing. He definitely does not have a fuzzy personality, but he is a good doctor and knows what he is doing. His team is absolutely amazing and made me feel so safe and taken care of throughout my entire surgery process. His team being so amazing is a reflection of him. I am only 25 years old so this process was terrifying for me. Dr covens and his team were thorough, caring, knowledgeable and competent. I am so fortunate to have been sent to him and receive the care I did as it saved my life. Please don’t let these other reviews scare you away. He is a good doctor with a lot of knowledge and expertise and at the end of the day that is what matters. Thank you dr covens and your team for all of your help. I will appreciate it forever.

If you get referred to this nasty man do yourself a favour and ask your doctor for another referral. He's sexist. He also only spent 5 minutes with me and did not explain what he was going to do and ended up taking a portion of my cervix out which means that I am at a high risk of becoming infertile. I have lodged a CPSO complaint already. Beware and stay away.

A god awful human being that should have his MD license revoked. Should not trust the care of your loved one with this pathetic sorry excuse of a human being. I would rather die from my cancer than to have him operate on me. He is not fit to practice as a doctor.

No bedside manner. Sexist man with an inflated ego who needs to bring himself back to planet earth. Treats everyone around him like a child. He should not be allowed to call himself a doctor let alone work with cancer patients. I would run if I see his name as my oncologist.

I had a surgery done by Dr.Covens last October 28,2021.He is an amazing surgeon,with so much knowledge!He was thoughtful and kind and provided me with the excellent medical care.I requested no blood transfusion during or after the surgery.I was a bit anemic so Dr.Covens sent me to the Blood Conservation Clinic to maximize my blood with IV iron.My surgery went very well and recovered very fast.Also there were not much side effects from the chemo and radiation treatments.I’m very grateful for the help and care Dr.Covens had given me.I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a good doctor.Sunnybrook is a very good hospital with great doctors,nurses and other staffs.
