I found Dr. Zabel to be pleasant and efficient. He spent time to go over the results of my eye examination and was very effective at explaining things in a way I could understand. An excellent doctor.

Worst doctor ever.Cold anti social & in a hurry. Surgery needed to be redone a year later. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS.

Dr. Zabel was recommended by my brother who had cataract surgery. We are both extremely pleased with the results and the professionalism of this physician.

Hate to even give this man one star for either helpfulness or knowledge. I have been yelled at, given false information, and treated like a senile old lady. When I tried ti tell him of debilitating drowsiness as a side-effect of one of the eyedrops for my glaucoma (a listed side-effect on the brochure that came with it) he said it was not a standard side-effect and then slowly and carefully explained, so my ageing brain could cope, that "elderly" people tend to fall asleep during the day!! My family doctor knows my history of hypersensitivity to various chemicals and had told me to stop using the eyedrops after bad side-effects from 3 of them and two more in the past but he still yells at me for "not wanting to use them.".

He is a first rate specialist. I have needed glasses to drive since I was a teenager and I have not needed them since he performed my cataract surgeries 12 years ago. He is very thorough in his work. Be on time and don't waste his time. I have had to see him twice a year for over 15 years and I have no complaint.

I wasn't looking to get stroked, I needed cataract surgery and wanted a competent doctor. My optometrist highly recommended Ralph and I am glad he did. Dr. Zabel explained everything I needed to know, told me how the procedure would go, performed it in minutes and restored my vision to a degree that I had forgotten possible. I was and, a year later remain, extremely satisfied.

Dr. Zabel told me Ophthalmologists are not able to prescribe glasses, and that only an optometrist can do this. What? Since when? Not interested in hearing any questions or concerns. If you get him, I hope it is on one of his good days. The reviews seem Jekyll-and-Hyde. Good luck.
