Dr. Lui is an excellent doctor! I have been seeing him for a few years for annual checkups. I have now been sending my husband and my mother-in-Law, and he has been able to detect the malignant spots on both of them and got them referred for surgery ASAP.

Yes, the wait times are sometimes longer (his receptionist will actually give you a heads up when she confirms appointments), but he is teaching and often has students learning during appointments. I rather have this thorough approach than the rushed checkups I had with other doctors in the past.

I can highly recommend Dr. Lui.

Yes, it may take a while to see Dr Lui but it's well worth the wait. He is extremely knowledgeable within his craft. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see him annually for the past number of years.

My appointment was kept to schedule and the staff (particularly Dr. Lui's assistant) were friendly and efficient. Dr. Lui's treatment of my skin condition was thorough and effective. I'm very grateful to have access to such a great dermatologist and clinic.

Outstanding professional and an absolute privilege to be under his care. True, he's not always on time but the wait is well worth it. Love his no nonsense approach and to all the negative Nelly's....simply go elsewhere if you believe you'll be able to place your trust in someone else.

While yes you may have to wait to see Dr. Lui, it is worth the wait. Previously I saw 2 different dermatologists for my rosacea only to have no success with reducing it at all. After 2 visits with Dr. Lui it was getting better within a 6 weeks.

His staff are amazing.

Thing to keep in mind is his office is a teaching office. So you will more than likely have a resident or two with him during your visit.

I appreciate his sense of humor and matter of fact approach.

I’ve had a couple of appointments with Dr Lui over the years and was always so happy with the results. I came here as I am planning another visit and was surprised to see so much negative feedback. I’ve always found Dr. Lui affable, even funny - and have always recommended him to others needing similar treatments. Perhaps I don’t mind ‘direct’ but have never found him rude. The clinic does seem to overbook appts so the wait is l-o-n-g and I mean add another hour or so onto your parking meter long, but the work he does is great!

As per the tons of horrid reviews, yes he has socialization troubles and this is a reflection on if he chooses to help you or not. His reply after me driving in from the Fraser Valley was "nothing i can do". No "hello" or eye contact, just one short phrase and thats it. Best derm out there? No way, save your efforts and time and see someone that will look you in the eyes. 100% zero value here. If i could have given a lower number i would have.

It s an absolute [privilege] to have him as my dermatologist - highly skilled with a 'no nonsense' bedside manner; simply tells you as it is without all the fluff. Was initially taken aback with his demeanor, yet truly appreciate his straight to the point diagnosis approach. So pleased to have him as a part of my medical team of professionals.
