I've been followed by Dr Desroches since he began his practise (over 28 years now) and he has saved my sight on more than one occassion. He knows his stuff, puts you at ease and tells you like it is.

Dr Desroches has been my doctor for many years and I have always found him first class. This year I had a hole in my retina, had no problem getting in to see him immediately. He directed me to the Riverside Hospital that day and when he was done his other patients he met me there, AFTER HIS REGULAR HOURS and lazered both my eyes for approx. an hour altogether. He stayed late so I wouldn't lose my sight and I am ever so grateful for him. In this day and age it isn't many professional doctors that give their 125% these days. You are very, very lucky if you have him for your eye specialist.

This man saved my vision. I am convinced of that through readings on the subject during my recovery period. He took my caseon an emergency bases and added my operation to an already full operation schedule. I have nothing but the highest praise for this doctor. He could have easily passed me off to the system and forgotten me,as he really had no oblegation to me, or my case. He saw a person in front of him, not a patient. I owe the outlook of a active and happy retirement, with full vision, to this doctor, who after a full day of scheduled operations took the time to operate on me. He knows his job, he does it well and he works nonstop to help when he sees an urgent need. I wish everyone who has a retina detachment would have the good fortune to have him or somone like him as his or her surgen. Thanks again Dr. Desroches!

Although it's slightly easier to get an appointment with God than with Dr Desroches, when it comes to sheer ability, he's worth the wait....and wait you will. He is overscheduled to the point of insanity, but he is also one of a very small number of doctors who specialize in care of the retina. If you are going to see him to get your glasses changed, then I can't be surprised if you find the wait intollerable. If you are waiting for surgery to save your eyesight, somehow the wait doesn't seem so bad. He's save my vision. No question, no exerageration. He's brilliant at what he does. I never found him cold, I am not the most calm of people when my eyes are being poked at; he was patient, kept me calm, and his (medical - his office staff is another matter) staff were wonderful.

Doesn't want any questions from patient. He doesn't care about a second opinion and he treat you a bit like a job. It is his job alright but we are humans.
