Brought my daughter to see him when she was 6 and he had zero patience. He was rude and zero bedside manner. It takes more than experience to be a doctor with children. One visit was enough, never went back!

I’m now 35, and saw this doctor from the time I was an infant until 18 years old. I had strabismus in both eyes which he corrected with surgery very early on. I had bottle cap glasses before the surgeries and now only glasses for reading. Yes, he can be short in conversation and late with appointments but I’ve never doubted that he was the best out there. We even drove 8 hours back to Ottawa to have our first born assessed and checked by him.

We have seen Dr Bonn twice in just over 1 year, and he has been professional, kind, and he was so patient and gentle with my son. He took his time to explain the situation and I did not feel rushed at all. His staff were also professional and friendly. No wait time for out appointment, we were seen before our appointment even actually began. I have been told he is one of the best in the country. He is a very kind man!

I saw Dr Bonn when I was a teenager and I had terrible headaches and couldn’t focus my eyes. He yelled at me, was really condescending with my symptoms, and didn’t listen to me at all. He rushed me out and told me my eyes were fine without looking into the details. A few years later I went to the Vision Institute of Canada and was diagnosed with intermittent exotropia and was able to get a referral for correction. This changed my life. The bedside manners of Dr Bonn are extremely poor, his knowledge is limited and he doesn’t bother with the details. I would absolutely not recommend him for anyone.

I saw Dr. Bonn when I was very young, he corrected my strabismus and I only need glasses to read now. Highly recommend, very knowledgeable and experienced.

I had surgery with him when I was 4 and he did an AMAZING job. I had strabismus and he was able to correct both eyes in ONE surgery. He is amazing 10/10 recommend.

Lots of bad comments on this page. I was very hesitant to go because of bad reviews but after my 4 year old daughter's two eye surgery for squint I am very satisfied. Experienced, bilingual, available and very competent. I recommand it.

When I was 3 I saw him for amblyopia (I was unable to see out of my left eye) A condition that can be corrected IF treated properly. I still remember being so afraid of him. He was extremely rude when I told him I was unable to notice a difference between the two lenses he yelled at me a told to choose one as he didn’t have all day. This led to constantly having glasses that didn’t work and lead to headaches. He perscribed patching but told my parents to have me wear the patch all day. Needless to say the patching didn’t go well. Now I’m 22 and still unable to see out of that eye, I have made some improvement with a new dr at Merivale vision care and have since started vision therapy. The doctor I see now says if my case was handled and followed properly I would have been able to see in both eyes. However due to his lack of compassion and his old school tactics I am left with a left eye that I cannot see out of. Please consider seeing someone else if you feel your child has a amblyopia “lazy eye”. You can improve your vision if you are given the right tools. Do not let your child suffer and suffer with not seeing out of one eye the rest of the their lives!
