Wow amazing! I had asked if the doctor could come up to ICU and speak to me and that I had some questions my brother had texted me. When Dr Spiegelman showed up he actually took the time to talk and read all the questions and text and answered then all back to my brother who is out of the country and concerned. We are so grateful that Dr Spiegelman took the time to sit with us and update us on our loved one. Truly grateful.

First let me express my sincere gratitude to my Family Lee and Antoinette without them this surgery would not have taken place.
Second due to my active physical life style I owe Doctor Levy and wife Kathy their understanding of the type of hip replacement surgery required to accommodate my lifestyle.
Doctor Spiegelman is an accommodating, compassionate, intelligent, and caring surgeon. Is an individual that is all about the patient and not any personnel gratification, a truly outstanding surgeon. I count myself truly lucky. In saying so I started this journey two years ago at 64 years old now at 66 waiting in the Hamilton system for over two years. The surgery to be performed was an “anterior approach hip replacement”. In less than six weeks from consultation with Doctor Spiegelman a HRH he was able to have me out of the hospital walking.
Dr. Spiegelman’s along with his home office staff approach and ability to care about the patient above all has renewed my faith there still exists out there to be what the medical profession is to be.
The office staff assisted me in advancing my surgery by one month. Equally, I received an email and a phone call reminding me of my pending surgery.
The hospital (HRH) post-surgery called my home twice as a follow to see how l was doing,
is truly is a rarity.
I strongly feel that Jamie Spiegelman is the ideal of a caring surgeon. He genuinely cares, he is professional and he makes an investment in the health and well-being of his patients. It is a rarity in today’s world.

He is an amazing doctor. I went in emergency recently with massive pulmonary embolism. If it wasn't for him, I would not be alive today. He saved my life. God bless him. Because of his professionalism, cleverness and knowledge, I am able to be with my kids again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. With respect B.R.

Dr. Spiegelman is a very caring and professional person and doctor. We were lucky enough to get him in the ICU at Humber River Hospital. It’s hard to express gratitude to doctors otherwise and I thought at the very least I’ll rate him as an excellent physician here.

Honest, straight forward doctor who know what he’s talking about. His team including all the nurses really respect him, and this also includiles the porter who brought my mother up to the ICU.

Dr. Spiegelman does it again and saves another life! I have worked with him for many years (I’m a nurse in the emergency room) and he has saved so many lives over the years - all the nurses kind of have a sigh of relief when he is on call as we know we are well covered when he is on. He again saved a guy who looked like he was going to die last night with severe shock. He is calm and a team player but very skillfully - I don’t think anyone can put in a central line as smooth and quick as he can. Definitely, if any of my family members ever need acute medical attention, he is the doctor I hope is present. We are blessed to have him here at Humber.

I am not one to post comments online, but I was really struck with this doctor’s interactions and management of my daughter in the ICU. I agree with all the positive comments in this forum except clearly the crazy person several comments below. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Spiegelman. He is kind, honest, compassionate and caring. When he spoke to us, I could resonate with his feelings about helping our family in the best way he could. He made us feel as part of the ICU team to make the right decisions. He listened, and by being an amazing listener, he created the trust our family needed in him and the ICU team. I also liked how down to earth he is making him a fellow human and by sharing his subtle personal stories made him trust us more. I wish all doctor’s were a class act like him.

When my mother was in the Icu, Infound Dr Spiegelman, the nurses, the social worker and the rest of the team at Humber’s ICU very helpful and professional. They helped us get through a very difficult time in my mother’s life and our lives as a family.

We found Dr Spiegelman approachable, honest and humble. He clearly has the respect of the nurses and he definitely has our family’s respect.

Dr. Jamie Spiegelman, or also referred to as “doctor death” was one of the doctors treating my Mom when she was in the ICU due to Humber River’s unorganized, flustered and inexperienced emergency staff who failed to catch septic shock in the early stages. Within the first week of my mom being in the ICU, Dr. S told us that she wouldn’t make it through one of the nights, instead my mother held on for another couple of weeks after. It was her way of saying, “**** you Dr. Death, I got this. While my mother was suffering he would speak indiscreetly to his co-workers in front of our family and tell them stuff like “she’s on a lot of life support, she’s not going to make it”, he would then look at the family, put on a little strange smirk and walk away, leaving us all with no hope. He is very unprofessional!!! When my mother died after being in the ICU for three weeks, again he showed is unprofessionalism and sick behaviour by one of my cousins overhear him say “I don’t know why the family is still talking to their dead mother, she’s not even there!” My Cousin didn’t tell the family what he had said at the time because of the emotional state we were already in but boy oh boy I wish he would have told me at the hospital so I can tell that peice of work what I thought about him. Dr. S is a prime example that our health care system in Ontario is doomed and that doctors don’t care about you and your family’s health. I would give you no stars on the ratings if I could. **** You!! I should have spat on your face when i had the chance.
