The best doctor I met in Toronto, diagnosed several medical conditions that multiple other doctors missed.

Dr. Macfadden is an excellent doctor who is by far the best, most kind, reassuring, exceptional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly competent physician our family has ever met! He has visited our home via National Home Visit (formerly Med visit) for years. He was also wonderful with my mom and late father.

Thank you, Dr. Macfadden, I'd have been lost without your medical support and encouragement, especially during the challenges of these last few years!

Dr. Douglas MacFadden is a very kind and therapeutic Physician who visited my Grandmother in-person at our home. As we were going through a challenging time with renewing her prescription medications, since our Family Physician required us to bring her in-person for an assessment in order to get them renewed (despite the fact that she has mobility issues), Dr. MacFadden was a significant help as he came to our home and got everything done. He acknowledged all of our concerns, completed an assessment, and advocated for my Grandmother to acquire all of her required prescriptions. Overall, we highly rate Dr. MacFadden's work and we are so appreciative of his prompt assistance. Thank you so much again.

He was one of the only three doctors I actually helped me AND cared. He was also the very doctor I had to do so! Doctors I've had since were robotic, rushed you on the phone or out the door before you could ask questions and lacked empathy.

It was years ago that I had him as a doctor through the house call service a few times. Most notably, 2013 or 2014 I had an exam that I had missed because I was super sick and could barely get up and move around the house.

So Dr. MacFadden gave me a note so I can do it later. The university wouldn't accept anything by email or by anyone other than myself so I packed up my meds, wrapped myself up (it was winter), took the TTC and handed them the forms. It was ridiculous enough that I had to go in person while feeling absolutely awful and not just scan it because "it might not be real,".......really wouldn't be that hard to check with the doctor if they were suspicious all the contact info was provided. Then I'm told I can't write the test (and it was large chunk of my grade, I would've failed if I didn't) as I didn't give the write type of note (though it met all the criteria).....it just needed to be in letterhead format.

So not knowing Dr. MacFadden doesn't have an office, I showed up to his house. I almost left when I realized, but this was important so I knocked and explained everything to his wife (who was also really nice) and she calmed me down as I panicked, gave me his cell phone number, email and that she'd pass on the message as to what happened as well.

Then Dr. MacFadden called out the university on their "bureaucratic nonsense," as he so accurately described it and finally I was able to do my exam.

Recently spoke with him on the phone. He responded from National Home Visit. Very thorough and thoughtful. Unavailable for an in-home visit but still very helpful.

God bless him because he saved my mom’s life .
because of covid 19 I couldn’t take her to the hospital and her family doctor didn’t even answer my phone . Very nice , knowledgeable and responsible doctor.

Wonderful tele-doctor (during covid) . He listened, explained everything thoroughly, and calmly went over medications that he called in to my local pharmacy for me, a patient in extreme back pain/sciatica. He should be in charge of training med students. A credit to his profession. Many thanks.

This is the 2nd home visit that my FIL was ever so lucky to have with this brilliant , calm, genuine and thorough physician . Being a nurse myself , and having dealt with many physicians , I can say with the greatest confidence that this is one of the best out there . Consider yourself very fortunate to have him as your doctor !

Dr. MacFadden visited me at home today for an appointment from National Home Doctor service (homedoctor dot ca). He called before he arrived, and when here immediately put me at easy with his calm and caring demeanour. At no time did I feel rushed or in-heard... something I don’t aleays get from my family doctor! Being sick is no fun, but Dr MacFadden made my day just a little more enjoyable.... Highly recommended!
