I have Dr. Lalonde as GP for 11 yrs. she is extreme caring, knowledgeable Dr, and a good listener. She provides excellent care to my family. We are sooooo lucky to have her. Highly recommended.

I love Dr. lalonde so much. She provides truly excellent care and goes above and beyond the call of duty. I’ve had some serious medical issues lately and she has been so supportive and kind. My family and I are so fortunate to have her as our family doctor! I highly recommend her.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lalonde (maiden name Nickerson) for about 6 years now. I find her extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She is patient, empathetic and really seems to care about her patients. I never feel rushed, she is very prompt, and will refer to specialists if warranted. I feel very thankful to have her as our family doctor.

I have a complex medical situation with 2 chronic diseases. Dr. Lalonde consistently monitors the requirements of both and refers me to good specialists as required. She contacts my specialists for their opinion if I go to her with something she thinks might be related to one of the chronic illnesses. She really goes out of her way to ensure I have excellent care.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Lalonde and the staff at Arbour Family Medicine. I previously had a mediocre family doctor and can't believe how much higher the standard of care is at this clinic by comparison. Dr. Lalonde is competent, punctual, and personable. I'm so happy my family has made the switch. I also love that they have openings for urgent care on Saturdays. My baby was sick and the doctor on call was going to rearrange his schedule to accommodate our visit. It's really wonderful that even if Dr. Lalonde is unavailable or not working on certain days that we still have the option of seeing other doctors in the clinic.

To the person below: You do realize she was on maternity leave, thus the "stand ins"? Clearly, you do not see her regularly enough to properly rate her. It is relatively easy to get an appointment, the "same day booking" is no longer the common practice - and it isn't for her convenience, but was just policy... the point being, at the time, was to have a walk-in clinic type setting. You can now book days and weeks ahead of time, without an issue.

Nickerson (now Lalonde) is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She is also good humoured and will give you the facts, and some options if available. She will do her research if required so that you are well followed for more specialized care.

I detest the "same day booking". I spend most of my time running meetings for 20-30 people and whenever I need to see her the assumption seems to be that I can drop all my obligations to meet her requirements.

If it is an emergency fine. However, hopefully most things aren't emergencies and I don't like having to jump for her convenience.

Also, she is frequently replaced by stand ins so you don't get any benefit from having a family doctor. It is more like you are going to a walk in clinic. It is clear that the stand ins often haven't read the chart and have no idea who you are or what your medical situation is.

I was a patient of Dr Nickerson's for a few years and was impressed with her as a family doctor. She has good knowledge of a vast array of medical issues, takes prevention seriously and takes the time to talk about it, and is not afraid to refer when necessary. She listens attentively and exhibits both confidence and warmth. Some members of the office staff were professional and attentive, but others were not competent, therefore I have to give a middle score. I planned on staying with Dr Nickerson, however I moved from Ottawa.

Dr. Nickerson is fantastic! She never rushes you and actively listens with empathy. She is knowledgeable and confidently tells you what she thinks. She is an respectful, caring and sincere person as well as a great doctor. A gem of the profession! She treats our whole family and we couldn't be happier.
