Don't let the positive reviews sway you. She is an awful oncologist. Heartless and shows no empathy to patient and families. She is not up to date on current therapies or data regarding medications and her ego doesn't allow her to leverage her colleagues knowledge when she isn't sure what to do or how to diagnose and treat. Don't put your fate in her hands, we made a very costing mistake and i write this to save others from doing the same. find another doctor asap!

Dr. Elser can be as late as required, this proves a great doctor is in need to assist many patients in their difficult time. She is by far the best oncologist. My mom is fortunate to have been assigned to her 8 years ago with IBC stage 4. Keep up the great work team! Optimal ethics both medical and professional! Would definitely refer Dr. Elser and her team to my loved ones.

I have been under the care of Dr. Elser for several years. I find her to be kind, understanding and professional. She is very straightforward and keeps her words "strictly business". The UHN/ Princess are amazing!!!!! Thank you all for your help and kindness , the staff are truly God sent individuals that are very very special.

Dr. Elser doesn’t have much involvement with her patients. Usually I only see a different resident doctor each appointment with her. If anything comes up between appointments you are told by her staff that she doesn’t need to see you or to email a list of questions. She’s made mistakes with medication that I’ve had to alert everyone to and refuse so I wasn’t given unnecessary drugs. I have had to read all my reports and bring things to her attention. She doesn’t have discussions with patients. Just simply says “right” and “it’s the recommended regime” in response to everything. Not sure what value she offers apart from her signature on a prescription pad. She doesn’t seem to know what’s going on and it’s always chaos in her practice. I am sad that I had her as my oncologist, especially during a pandemic, because she offers zero support and her mistakes just leave me stressed out that I’m in bad hands. Cancer is hard and Dr. Elser just makes it even harder. She has a production line of patients. You’re just a number so don’t bother her, just take your drugs and move along.

Hands down the worst oncologist at PMH - if she is assigned to you run. I read the bad reviews but noticed some good ones so I gave her a chance. But once you work with her you realize those positive ones are not accurate and the negative ones are spot on.

Dr. Elser is a hard working, careful, skilled oncologist who has given my husband who suffers from late stage breast cancer, only the best advice and treatment. She has been a kind and dutiful care provider to him, and I have every confidence in her ability to balance the art and science of treating a cancer patient with advanced disease. I noticed comments on timeliness in other reviews. My opinion, after accompanying my husband to Princess Margaret for nearly 7 years, is that sometimes, a patient will have to wait - doctors may be dealing with a patient ahead of you who has just found out they have cancer, or whose case is complex. I totally understand that the oncologist will need to take more than the average time with that patient, and we will need to be understanding. Dr. Elser is working with a scheduling system that is not perfect. I have personal knowledge that she works long hours, follows up when necessary with phone calls, and, sometimes misses lunch.
