He was kind, respectful, and patient. Best experience I've ever had with a doc in the ER.

ABSOLUTE SOCIOPATH. Accused my husband of alcohol and drug abuse for his PRSS1 genetic pancreatitis. A nurse warned us he was not a good Dr. The very first thing he said entering our curtained area was, and I DO quote "Alright, first things first. Let's cut the bulls***t, I don't work with drug seekers." You are an ER DR and you work with whoever comes in that door looking for help. Then, through tears, we asked him to please look at his history of pancreatitis to prove we aren't "drug seekers," to which he said, "I refuse to look at old files because those are other people's opinions." My husband's note from his pain specialist Dr in Kitchener telling him to go to emergency for a genetic chronic pancreatitis flare up, was also considered useless to him. How is this legally allowed in our healthcare system? We had to beg and bawl our eyes out for help in the emergency room because of this awful man.

Not helpful or understanding. Asks what he can do to help and when I mention a particular test he says he won't do it. Beside manner is very poor, he's dismissive and doesn't do a proper investigation and testing before sending you home.

I am a retired paramedic.
presented to St Marys ER due to new onset Atrial Fibrillation ,
he forgot to do thyroid test and started me medicine at DVT dose instead of Atrial Fibrillation ,luckily my doctor on follow up did Thyroid test and found underlying reason and I am on treatment now and my dose for anti clot medicine is corrected as well.
I empathize that ER is a busy place but we should not miss basics

I found Dr Robert Wickett very polite, informative and a good listener. He ask about all my symptoms, did an examination, order some tests and at the end he provide some theories. I'm still waiting for some results and following up with my doc. But, my overall experience with dr Robert W. was a very good one.

I found Dr G Robert Wickett, to be very easy to talk to,He asked why I came to emrg and I told him my symptoms, and that it made me very nervous. He told me he understood my concerns. He asked if I wanted my husband in the room. he asked questions and listed to my symptoms.....he sent me down the hall for a cat scan. When he got the results he called me and my husband back to the room. told us the prognosis, and gave me a presciprion, he also gave me 2 other Drs to follow up for consutation. All in all I found Dr Robert Wickett to be very knowledgeable and pleasant, also has a sense of humor. This was at St.Mary's Emergency room.

If this is Dr. Wickett at St. Mary’s hospital who works in the emergency room…..tonight I had to take my 85 year old mother there because of breathing problems. His first words to my mother was “why are you here”? As she tried to explain to him why she was there, he was very short and rude with her and kept asking her to repeat herself. There is a bit of a language barrier as she is not from Canada. I know he needs to get his facts straight but to say that he felt that “we were going around in circles and that he felt that there might be a camera somewhere like in Candid Camera” was rude and uncalled for. When he came back with test results I was trying to write down what he was saying and when I asked him if he could repeat the last thing he said, he said “what part do you need me to repeat “ in a perturbed voice.
I know doctors are very tired but so are we….it’s the last place we wanted to be and to wait around for almost several hours for results is tiring….

Dr. Wickett is misogynistic and dismissive. I have never ever encountered a doctor whose manner and aggressiveness is so unpleasant. I will be following up with a complaint to the College of Physicians and Surgeons. I would not take my dog to see this doctor. He arrived clearly with a preconeived notion of what was happening. He wasn't at all interested in listening, just in speaking. He was not sympathetic to the issue of nausea and vomiting and this man may be good at many things: being a doctor isn't one of them.
