Dr. Akbari is an exceptional specialist. I was referred to the Nephrology clinic due to essential hypertension, and happened to be pregnant at referral, so was sent to Dr. Akbari's pregnancy clinic and felt it was some of the best care I'd ever received. Dr. Akbari is compassionate and diligent. I also think you can tell a lot about a doctor based on their nurses, and I have to say Dr. Akbari's nurses are the kindest I've ever encountered (particularly Claude and April).

I delivered without complications, and with well-managed blood pressure throughout my entire pregnancy.

I can’t say enough positives about Dr.Akbari. He makes me feel very comfortable and at ease concerning my PKD. He is very knowledgeable and quite strict in getting me to follow his recommendations. I feel like I’m in very good hands.

Dr. Akbari is done an excellent job in managing my CKD . He moves very quickly and his staff responds to my calls urgently. Im happy to have found a trusted medical doctor. Very professional too.

Dr Akbari is most likely a good Nephrologist but in my case I found a very cold human type of doctor. He would answer questions reluctantly but would rather ask the questions which put me in a negative situation. I found him to be haughty and that made me feel very uncomfortable. He would write constantly, asking few questions. There was very little dialogue. At the end, he crossed his arms, stood in front of me and asked, in an authoritative tone, if I had questions. I just froze. Again, he could be a good physician but attitude is a very important part of medicine and he just runs short of it.

Dr Akbari is by far one of the best specialists I have ever encounter. He is very knowledgeable and really gives you the attention you need. He calls me personally for concerns about my health. His nurse Claude is very nice too. I am very confident with Dr Akbari and I know that me and my baby are in very good hands. This doctor is "heaven sent!"

Dr. Akbari has been caring for me for several years now. I am just in follow-up mode at the moment as my kidney issue has stablized. While going through the problem he was always available, always returned my calls very promptly and had all the answers I needed. I have never known a specialist of any kind to give me the care and attention he has. Now that I am in follow-up he is still showing me the same level of attention. As far as wait times - I volunteer at a Cancer Clinic and am aware that sometimes some patients may require more time with the Dr. that is not expected when te appt. is made.
