Seeing this Dr. was a very bad experience. Most of the time, he was not listening to me at all, typing, one keystroke at the time, on his computer. I am not even sure if what he was typing on his computer was about me or about one of his previous patients. He was also filling some paper forms that did not seem related to me. After talking for a while (2 minutes) with him obviously not listening to me, I confronted him and asked him what he thought about what I was saying. Then he admitted that he was not listening to me, so I started over.

He told me that there was some information missing about me, and he sent me fetch it from his staff. When I came back he realized he had the information from the start on one of the two paper sheets that he obviously did not bother to read before I came in. The solution to my chronic pain problem, according to him, was to "change job". He then asked me "What do you want to do?", without offering me any option. When I told him "take the pain away", he took that as a synonym to "schedule a surgery with two weeks of recovery time", and I had to come up with the other options (that I heard from another Dr.) myself. He also told me that seeing a physiotherapist was a lost of time, and up until now, seing a physiotherapist has been the most helpful thing for my pain.

And finally, when his secretary called me for the cortisone shot I was supposed to receive from him, she mentioned that I had to pay, and it was "cash only" (seriously!) I am obviously upset about my meetings with him, but seeing such a mix of incompetence, indifference for the patient and greed is far down my value scale.

I was told by the doctor to wait and see if the bleeding from the Anal skin tags will be a constant problem. It is and reading the bad experiences by others here I did not return for the surgery. During my travel to Europe I found out that there is very good laser treatment for that! One day and it is done! Wonder where in Ottawa this is possible?

Dr. Sarkis Yeretsian is the worst surgeon. He doesn't have good skills in surgery. He is practicing surgery for long time but still he cannot do a good quality results. It is a trial and error. Avoid him at all cost. Canada should ban him since many people are victimized by his bad skills of surgery. He will just rework his mistakes for additional cost and again cannot expect with good results. Do not get fooled with this doctor. You will discover when you got the surgery that his silence during the checkup means he is unsure of things and he just want to do surgery and you pay more and no good results. He just got patient from public clinic and will tell the patient to go to his own clinic. A very bad surgeon.

If you’re disillusioned to think we have an efficient heath care system, go to an Appletree Clinic. Appointment or not, you will be waiting at least 2 hours to see your doctor. As for Dr. Yeretsian, yeah, he isn’t the best at communication. My best advice is to do the research yourself and write out a bunch of questions, when you consult with him, ask him everything you’ve written down. He will answer any questions you bring forward to him; he just isn’t going to sit and waste time with a lengthy discussion if you haven’t done your research, it’s your life, take an initiative. In terms of his skill as a surgeon, he is unmatched. He is one of the foremost experts on Hemorrhoidectomy in the entire world, so, consider yourself lucky to get him. I had very bad hemroids and a rectal prolapse and he did a bang up job. NOTE: For Ottawa patients, you cannot be given a general anesthetic for any procedure done at an Appletree since they don’t have an anesthesiologist.

It's been a few months since I have had anal skin tags removed and I have to say that the procedure did help alot. I wrote the previous comment when I was in excrutiating pain after the surgery. Although it was extremely painful for the first weeks, the discomforts such as constant itch and pain that I was experiencing before the surgery have disappeared. The doctor quickly diagnosed the problem when I saw him and he deserves points for that.

A very unpleasant, regrettable experience. BEWARE OF THE PROCEDURE which involves the REMOVAL OF ANAL SKIN TAGS! EXTREMELY PAINFUL RECOVERY!!! Be sure to ask for a doctors note if returning to work.(at least 1-2 weeks) The intensity of the pain during the recuperative time is more significant than the doctor leads on. The doctor did not inform me of the severity of the pain following the procedure. Also, there was a communication gap with the doctor who speaks little English/ French. Despite using painkillers and stool softeners I'm enduring acute pain during bowel movements. It's been a week so it may eventually heal properly but I'm concerned that it may not. Also, if you are a female, make sure that you don't have your period during or right after the procedure as it is very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, WAIT TIMES AT THE APPLETREE CLINIC have been between 1-2 hours even WITH an appointment. Very disappointed. I'll know in 6 weeks if it was worth it. ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS!

I was able to get an appointment in a quick fashion on Sunday so it didn't interrupt my work schedule. He was very knowledgeable and although there was a good 2 weeks recovery, I am back to normal thanks to this good doctor
