The fact this hack was able to continue his "practice" as long as he did is appalling & horrific. Like many others here I was subject to a plethora of experimental drugs in the early to mid 90's by this clown. I can just imagine how many children's minds he's warped. I was misdiagnosed with tourettes syndrome albeit like many others I had a weak minded mother who followed this "professionals" diagnoses & prescriptions like it was scripture, it's great to here he's retired it's unfortunate that it's not from physical existence.

"I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm, especially from abusing the bodies of man or woman,"

I guess Allan Carroll takes great pleasure and pride in his ability to skirt his oath by abusing not the bodies, but the psyche of the young patients in his care.

From reading other ratings, it would appear his diagnostic abilities are much like the stopped clock that's still correct twice a day, but is clearly dead wrong most of the time.

Allan Carroll is a soulless monster, lacking a moral compass. He didn't hesitate in over- and incorrectly medicating a boy who had autism - a far cry from the TS and Bipolarity that AC diagnosed.

Allan Carroll colluded with school staff who believed strongly and devoutly in using physical abuse, humiliation, ostracization, solitary confinement and routine brow-beating in an effort to "treat" this boy with autism (diagnosed later by another child psychiatrist).

Allan Carroll, you are a monster who stole this boy's childhood. Congratulations on attaining a king-sized ego. If it wasn't bad enough to destroy one boy's life, it appears from these reviews you're quite adept at pulverizing children's lives as well as the hope and happiness of their families.

I was another one of his pediatric guinea pigs in the 80's I was harmed by this man and I am shocked that he still has a license to practice medicine.

I feel so validated after reading all of your comments thank you. I have major trauma after years of being tortured by him and my mother after my diagnosis of Tourette syndrome. My mother can go to hell along with this hack job of a doctor. Being locked up my whole childhood along with being their prize pig / science experiment. You ruined my life Alan. And I will never forgive you.

I was nothing but a science experiment to this man 1500 mg of lithium a day at 12 years old . this continued tell i was 16 . i began seeing him in grade three . this was a time when ADHA was new which i had been diagnosed with at 7 . i also had very severe dyslexia . which lead to some very frustrating times in school . instead of addressing this . i was pumped full of drugs ,so many different types and strengths. Some how After a Year or so of dozens of drug combos . i was diagnosed with bipolar. I am am not sure how a 9 year old child gets this diagnosis . i don't remember my child hood be cause of this . i was on such high dose of drugs . due to me being near 6 feet at ten . i was basically sedated for 8 years of my life .

it dose bring me some comfort seeing other had these issues as well . but it also makes me sad that this man go away with doing this to so many of us

If there's anything to say, if this is the Dr. Carroll that worked as a child/youth psychiatrist in the 80's, then this is my attempt at closure. Maybe I could start with the gross misdiagnosis, or the time he told my mother that I was "schizophrenic but just didn't know how to say I was". None of his treatments involving strong antipsychotics made a fraction of an improvement, but this seemed to convince him I was even more schitzophenic than he thought. He never explored other possibilities. This was in grade two, and that misdiagnosis haunted me until grade nine. I was bullied horribly, but none of my teachers believed it was as bad as it was because of this, and my mother suffered from watching me struggle with depression.

It wasn't until grade nine, when things had gotten so bad that I was hospitalized, that a new psychiatrist finally re-assessed me from the bottom up. I actually cried with relief when I was told that I actually only had a mild mental illness, that I wasn't schitzophenic, and that most of my problems stemmed from depression. For the first time in my life I had a treatment that worked very well; as she was the first doctor to challenge Dr. Carroll's reputation of "success" in diagnosis. With her help, hard work and gradually lessening medications, I pulled myself up and onto my feet.

Now I live a successful life, and most days you wouldn't know I have a disability unless I told you. I went to college, work a job I love, own a condo, and am a happy, productive person. This is my final step to letting go of one of my past traumas, and moving on. Dr. Allan Carroll, if this is the right Doctor by this name, I forgive you. It doesn't excuse how indifferent and uncaring you were to me and my mother in the name of proving you were right. But I release this burden you left upon me, content with the knowledge that I never have to see you again. I hope you're in a better place than you were back then.

Dr. Carroll has worked with John, my son, for 21 years. We admire his honest experience and expertise in working with a myriad of mental illnesses. John is a complex soul but has so much to offer to everyone and only wants to please everyone.
Dr. Carroll determines a course of action for each mental abnormality. If meds needs changing, he will tell us why it needs to be done, etc. Careful monitoring after the meds is conducted by him.

Best move we have ever made. Our Daughter was diagnosed with Pans and found him to be very understanding , knowledgeable and supportive. Where other doctors would not listen and dismiss our daughter's symptoms as having neurological problems without immune based issues, Dr. Carol went further with treatments and tests to discover our daughters condition. If it was not for his in depth analytical approach to treatment we would be stuck masking our daughters illness with meds that somewhat alleviate the symptoms but do not target the true cause of the illness. He is amazing, approachable, and very caring. His nurse Debra is also incredibly caring and supportive! We love them both!
