How to Make Fat-Burning ‘Fire Tea’

If you enjoy comforting, warm beverages that satisfy your sweet tooth, but want to be mindful of your weight, fire tea is for you.

It’s embarrassingly easy to make too, requiring just three ingredients: fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks, and honey.

“It’s such an indulgence, but it still keeps your weight off,” says Nagina Abdullah, a wellness expert.

The key to the fat-burning prowess of fire tea is the addition of cinnamon. Research suggests spices like cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg elevate satiety and mimic sweetness; this helps you cut back on sugar.

Cinnamon has also been associated with better blood-sugar regulation, boosted heart health, and brain function. Ginger is known as a ‘flat-belly food’, assisting in digestion which helps with weight management.

Fire tea isn’t only diet-friendly: it holds digestive benefits, too. Fresh ginger is ideal for upset stomachs and relieving cramps; honey is known to alleviate painful coughs.

And like we said, it’s stupidly easy to prepare. Just boil both the cinnamon sticks and fresh ginger in water for 20 minutes, letting all that goodness melt into the H2O. Strain the contents, then add honey to the tea to give it that natural sweetness. Brew a large batch early in the week, keeping it in your fridge for whenever you’d like a pick-me-up after dinner.

“You’re going to feel like you’re on fire with the combination of these ingredients,” says Abdullah.

Don’t worry – the beverage isn’t spicy, though it does have a ‘sweet-spicy’ kick thanks to the cinnamon. Enjoy!
