I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer at 35 years old. I don't know how I was lucky enough to get Dr Chadi as my Doctor but I'm very grateful. He is so caring and empathetic and not to mention I am almost 2 years cancer free with a great quality of life thanks to him.

Wonderfully caring doctor with essential knowledge! So happy that my mom was referred to him and he did excellent on her surgery. His team is just as top-tier and wonderful, clearly demonstrating best practice and care for all patients.

Hello UHN!

This is a letter outlining my experience with Dr Sami Chadi

I know you know at UHN you are very fortunate to have this Top Shelf Doctor in your association!

I was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer back in March 2023 and upon doing research I wanted Dr Chadi on my team and with luck, determination and timing he took me as a patient!

I can not tell you or express enough this mans Stunning service, his ethics, his bed side manner , his knowledge, his research they are all Top Shelf!

He takes ownership and has a vested interest in you and treats you like you’re his family not a number!

He calls you afternoons , evenings and weekends with updates, recommendations and guidance!

His whole team is Wow…. From his assistant, his NP, his resident Doctors, his surgical team! Kudos to Team Chadi !

My Surgery was on Dec 27th and was a success! He called my wife 4 to 5 times with updates while I was in surgery… who does this? Wow and Amazing service!

I can not express enough about Dr Chadi, I know I’m missing a lot but wanted to keep this short.

I would like UHN to reward and recognize this Gentleman and to make him part of their Management Team to learn best practices from him.

I will be highlighting him on social media and whatever I can do to support him and UHN

Dr. Chadi is the definition of humanity in one word , if god had sons , Dr. Chadi would be of them.

Simply put, Dr.chadi is what every Doctor should be and more.

The last few months have felt like an alter reality with no out without the faith in God, and in our health care system. But to no-ones surprise, our health care is nowhere near where it should be.

To sum, after months and months of waiting and fighting to see a specialist and get a colonoscopy for what we simply thought was a rectal fissure, turned out to be stage 3 rectal cancer for my 47 year old healthy mom.

And to make things worse, we spent days, weeks, and months anxiously waiting for test results and appointments.

Bringing us to our decision to search for Doctors elsewhere, and decided to try a referral to Dr.Chadi based on his reviews. He then called us personally to consult about my moms situation, reassured us, and accepted to see her in his clinic, and gave us an immediate appointment for her surgery.

From initial introduction, his knowledge and empathy was undeniable. He took his time to fully explain every step of the surgery, every possible risk, every solution, as well as all his confidence in the outcome.

He then successfully performed my moms surgery, and continued to check in everyday and take extra precautionary measures to ensure everything was good before we head back to Ottawa.

Unfortunately, my mom ended up dealing with some unavoidable post-op complications, but Dr.Chadi and his team did incredible work everyday and took all the extra steps necessary to help her heal. On the days he couldn’t visit, he would check in by phone. Even after transitioning back to our home in Ottawa, he stays in contact and checks in on how things are moving along.

We thank God every day for the care and time he puts in his patients.
Truly, we couldn’t thank him enough for all the hours he spent on us, for all his patience, hard work, and understanding. He felt our pain as it were his own and never failed to reassure us day after day.

We continue to acknowledge that had it been with any other Doctor we would have been flooded with restless, lonely anxiety.
Thank you Dr.Chadi, his residents, and his assistant, for being so timely, kind, and sharp. We would return to Toronto any day for this kind of care.

Dr. Chadi did surgery in June 2023 to repair my rectal prolapse. He was extremely kind and professional in his dealings with me. He took his time, and continues to take his time, to ensure I understand the nature and effect of the surgery he performed. He continues to follow up with me to ensure I have a reasonable quality of life in light of the situation. I highly recommend Dr. Chadi for anyone with rectal issues within the area of his expertise.

My father has been in Dr. Chadi’s care for a few years now. He has been extremely empathic with his care. He has made himself available to me for questions. He presents as extremely knowledgable and is very thorough. He spends more than enough time to ensure that that my family and I understand the treatment and risks and benefits. I have been dealing with Doctor Sami Chadi for almost 2 years regarding my cancer. During my entire life, Dr. Chadi is one of the best doctor I have met. His abilities to deal with my cancer, my worries, and most importantly his ability to support me whenever I need his support. He does this to me and all his patients which I met during my treatment. Dr. Chadi is a godsend. My mum was diagnosed with colon cancer and we requested our family doctor to refer us to Dr. Chadi after seeing the excellent reviews he had online. We thought he'd be extremely busy and not get back to us for a while but we were pleasantly surprised (almost shocked) when his team reached out to us the very next day. Everyone on his team (from admin to doctors) is so compassionate and just an absolute pleasure to be around. Dr. Chadi himself is one of the most caring and likeable people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. We couldn't have been in safer hands. The whole team is caring, gentle and we are so very grateful that they took care of my mum's surgery and follow ups. I can't rate them highly enough. God bless.
