I met Dr Gharbi via telephone last year as my ferratin levels were low. At that time, he did an assessment and let me know the cause including that my body is not absorbing iron as it should.
I had asked my OB to complete anemia testing during my third trimester and the results did seem low to me as I also felt the symptoms. Dr Gharbi, being the well versed professional that he is, viewed my results and determined that there was a need to get iron infusion given my symptoms and of course pregnancy (the level was lower then what it should be). What made the experience most pleasant during this scenario though was the efforts by Emma (Dr Gharbi's staff. member). Emma was so helpful from when the results were forwarded to getting me connected to the right resources as soon as possible - case in point ,the soonest the hospital could see me was three weeks out (which was outside of the recommendation) however, she proactive in finding alternatives for me. She is such an amazing, caring individual who not only put me but my baby first.
I am super glad that I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Gharbi and most grateful for patient first professionals in the healthcare system like Emma.

Dr Gharbi has been my specialist for a few years now and I couldn't be more pleased with the care he has provided me. Really nice guy, thorough, and takes the time to answer my questions. His staff is also great and really quick to get back to me with setting up appointments which is really nice. Would highly recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. Gharbi for autoimmune issues. As I have quite a few Drs and appointments, I did not realize that he is an internist, I thought he was the GI specialist. He only took 4 mins for the initial intake, did not allow me to provide any back-round information, asked painfully few questions , ordered some tests which the results were sent to one of his other clinics which delayed my results.
When I finally had the follow up appointment, he told me I have IBS which quite frankly is a diagnosis of exclusion and we have not excluded anything else. He kept telling me I had the wrong form of IBS and when I asked questions about it he seemed irritated and the only solution he offered was medication which I am hesitant to start since we haven't ruled anything else out. He seemed annoyed that I didn't want to start the medication and just wanted to get off the phone. I was quite frankly appalled that this was the consult with the GI specialist. Then, I find out he was the internist who should have been evaluating me for autoimmune issues and I'm even more upset. I would try to see someone else if you are a woman.

Dr. Gharbi is a rare doctor that listens and does not gaslight his patients like a lot of doctors do today. In 2021 had a Holter test done and the doctor I had then did not tell me results that were flagged noted of having a First Degree AV block. In 2022 I asked my current GP for a ECG, Holter Test and a d-dimer test to detect blood clots. My doctor had refused and told me First Degree AV block is nothing. He also told me d-dimer tests too many false positives. Dr. Gharbi is an excellent doctor, I did not have to ask him he immediately ordered me the tests in addition to other blood tests to detect risk of stroke and clots. Dr. Gharbi knows the difficulties patients have with doctors who are condescending, dismissive and gaslight patients. If I want reassurance of any health concern related to heart or vascular problems he is the doctor. He is caring and listens.

He saved my father's life and I will always be grateful to him. I'm amazed how quickly he was able to perform all his testing and have his heart surgery performed. He helped us navigate the healthcare system and went above and beyond, especially as we have no regular GP. I would highly recommend this doctor, in fact count your blessings if he is taking care of you.

Dr Gharbi is one of the VERY FEW doctors of many I've encountered who are literate in iron deficiency, low ferritin, and iron infustion - a catastrophically underdiagnosed problem in Canada.

He is patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Could not recommend him more.
