Biography

Dr. Neil Tanna is a Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with a practice focused on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and breast. Dr. Tanna is a leader in his field, a respected educator, and a prolific author. He serves as Vice President of Women's Surgical Services with the Katz Women's Surgical Center at Northwell Health. In 2018, Dr. Tanna was promoted to the rank of Professor of Surgery with the Zucker School of Medicine, making him one of the youngest full professors at Northwell Health. He is also a Full Investigator in the Institute of Bioelectronic Medicine at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. Dr. Tanna is among a very small group of Plastic Surgeons in the world to have completed formal training in Otolaryngology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Microvascular Surgery. After completing his medical training in one of the few combined six-year accelerated track medical programs in the country, Dr. Tanna spent an additional eight years training to become a Plastic Surgeon. He completed a full Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery residency at The George Washington University. He then pursued further training and completed a second full residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This was followed by a fellowship in advanced reconstructive and microvascular surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University (NYU). Dr. Tanna completed a MBA in healthcare management from The George Washington University. Dr. Tanna has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and been invited to present at hundreds of national and international scientific meetings. He is currently Associate Editor for the leading Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) Journal. As a leader in his field, Dr. Tanna has been featured in national and international media outlets. Among several noteworthy honors and awards, Dr. Tanna has also been listed in the New York Magazine Top Doctors, Castle Connolly Top Doctors, New York Times Super Doctors, and Newsday Top Doctors lists. Finally, Dr. Tanna is dedicated to advocating for women s healthcare in the community. He is a certified physician member of the Katz Institute for Women s Health and an Advisory Board Member of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Support Program.
