I was told I needed Carpel Tunnel surgery ASAP at home in Michigan but there wasn't enough time to get the surgery done before my husband and I left for Florida for 3 months. I considered flying back to Michigan but it was going to cost too much for a plane ticket and rental car etc. and I needed someone to take care of me for 24-48 hours after surgery. I found Dr. Patel on the internet and made an appointment. On my first visit Dr. Patel agreed that I needed carpel tunnel surgery but he wanted to see if a cortisone shot in the wrist would help. I agreed since I really didn't want surgery. I returned to Dr. Patel office 4 weeks later and the numbness in my fingers was better but not 100%. Dr. Patel said I needed the surgery as soon as possible before the nerve in my wrist was permanently damaged. The surgery was scheduled for 2 days later. I got the necessary blood work done and returned on Wednesday for the surgery. Everything went as scheduled. Now 5 weeks later the incision is healed up and the numbness in my fingers is gone. The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel and his staff.
