I was told I needed Carpel Tunnel surgery ASAP at home in Michigan but there wasn't enough time to get the surgery done before my husband and I left for Florida for 3 months. I considered flying back to Michigan but it was going to cost too much for a plane ticket and rental car etc. and I needed someone to take care of me for 24-48 hours after surgery. I found Dr. Patel on the internet and made an appointment. On my first visit Dr. Patel agreed that I needed carpel tunnel surgery but he wanted to see if a cortisone shot in the wrist would help. I agreed since I really didn't want surgery. I returned to Dr. Patel office 4 weeks later and the numbness in my fingers was better but not 100%. Dr. Patel said I needed the surgery as soon as possible before the nerve in my wrist was permanently damaged. The surgery was scheduled for 2 days later. I got the necessary blood work done and returned on Wednesday for the surgery. Everything went as scheduled. Now 5 weeks later the incision is healed up and the numbness in my fingers is gone. The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel and his staff.

I can't adequately express in words how grateful I am to Dr. Patel for helping restore my injured hand. He is exemplary, a consummate professional, and a true healer. His knowledge and surgical skills put me FIRMLY on the road to recovery, yes, but he also immediately understood the origin and context of my pain and suffering, and passionately advocated for me, ultimately due to his great ability to empathize with, and connect with, his patients.

Dr. Patel is gifted in the science and art of surgery. He's an extraordinary, superlative credit to his profession.

Making the final decision to get a tummy tuck took place the day I consulted with Dr. Patel. He was the only doctor that understood what I was looking for with this procedure and was realistic about what I should expect. He is straight forward, honest and if he says he can help you, don't doubt it. He did not leave my sight after having surgery and monitored my recovery closely and personally. I am six months in recovery, and every week I feel more amazed at how I feel and look. Dr. Patel did an excellent surgery and had the aesthetic aspect to make my stomach look natural. He is board certified and that is reassuring when going for such an invasive surgery that you would have to live with results for the rest of your life. Forever thankful to Dr. Patel.

Dr. Patel is really a kind, gentle MD that inspired me to trust his skills in repairing my eye lids. He is not satisfied with a job at even 99 per cent as he wants every procedure to be perfect. Thank you Dr Anup

Just before the July 4th holiday weekend, I broke my wrist playing racquetball (distal radius and ulna fractures). Ouch! The hospital emergency room set the break and sent me home with a recommendation to follow up with Rothman Orthopedic. I scheduled an appointment as soon as possible, which turned out to be seven days after the accident owing to the holiday weekend. After meeting with them, and in spite of the hospital recommendation, I decided to get another opinion. I scheduled an appointment with Orlando Hand Surgery Associates and Dr. Anup Patel. On my first appointment, practically before I sat down in the waiting room, I was called in by a technician for X-ray’s. A few minutes later Dr. Patel was reviewing them with me. Dr Patel was understanding of my plight and competently explained my options; which included possibly re-breaking my wrist and installing plates and screws. I had lots of questions, but I never felt rushed. He took his time explaining his recommendation. I was sold! He changed my emergency hospital provided splint and we set a date for surgery.

The day after surgery, Dr. Patel followed up with a phone call to see how I was doing. The next day his physicians assistant checked in with me. Everything I was experiencing (intense, constant post-op pain) was normal. Honestly, those follow up calls really helped me to relax and heal. The pre and post-op teams were friendly, helpful and available when needed.

This may be a small detail, but it impressed me: every appointment, including three post-op follow up meetings with Dr. Patel have been on time! I have always supported getting second opinions for important matters, especially something like surgery. I am so glad I did or I would not have met Doctor Patel. He gets my highest recommendation.

Dr. Patel is conscientious in ways others noted; but I have twist on all the reviews. I've yet to see Dr. Patel; but sent a note about a Stage 4 wound (hospital-acquired due to not being turned in the ICU). The Doctor responded asking for pictures; and called me after a quick look. We discussed alternatives and I will follow-up if a flap procedure is indicated. This was an incredible response for a physician these days , and I've not approached or even looked at information on anyone else. If my wound doesn't heal (with a wound vac on it now); of course I'll follow Dr. Patel's recommendations. He already earned my confidence.

Dr. Patel is a miracle surgeon! Just ask Jimmy Fallon or any of his patients for that matter. I am an avid saltwater fly fisherman and I found myself with a severe spiral "boxer's style" fracture of my 5th metacarpal deep in the middle of tarpon season. He was able to fit me in quickly for surgery as my hand had been broken for several days and did a great job answering all of my questions. I was quite distraught, but Dr. Patel said he had a special compression screw, a relatively new treatment, that would get me back fishing in only a matter of weeks. The screw was inserted lengthwise into the bone and allows for full movement of the finger and knuckle. The compression screw allowed me to start at Ability Rehab with my OT the same week as surgery. I might add, Dr. Patel is also a highly skilled plastic surgeon, using no sutures and leaving me with minimal scarring at the incision point. I am very grateful for Dr. Patel and would give him 10 stars if possible. I'm already back to doing what I love.

Best in Orlando for sure but I am willing to bet he is one of the best nationwide. I went in randomly to him without researching him for a second opinion. So glad I did. He is authentic and honest unlike most. He is direct but compassionate. Highly recommend.
