I was highly recommended to see Dr. Carruthers and my family Dr. put in a referral. Since I had already seen a rheumatologist from another office, who I was not comfortable with she refused to see me. Is this how our medical system works now?

Having struggled with multiple symptoms for years with another specialist, I came to Dr Carruthers with some scepticism. She dispelled that quickly by a combination of skilful questions and truly listening to me. After undergoing specialty antibody testing and follow-up consultations, it was concluded that I have two rare autoimmune diseases in addition to severe asthma and multiple allergies. Suddenly, all the pieces fit together and I felt relieved to know what truly was happening. Once diagnosed with the name of the first disease, we were able to see that other symptoms (not seen by me as related) were part of this. Dr C is an artful investigator, an incredibly good listener and asks skilful questions. She has a wonderful MOA, Lisa, who supplements my care by responding to my concerns after consulting with Dr C. It has taken 8+ years but I finally know what I am fighting against. Excellent caring delivery of medical diagnostics and ongoing support.

I have had 2 Telehealth visits, an in-person exam & several emails serving as clarifications of details provided by other specialists involved in my care. Dr Carruthers has provided me with a level of investigation and support that I had only dreamt of. My individual symptoms led to several different potential diagnoses but her thorough analysis of detailed additional tests actually linked everything together to develop a fully-encompassing diagnosis. She also worked with my other specialists and their test results. Apparently having one of two rare diseases, I am now responding well to a new treatment & am able to physically do things I could not do three months ago. This lovely physician is an amazing problem solver and diagnostician. I owe her and her talented MOA everything. Incoming information to this office went through Lisa, who I found calm, competent, and supportive. They are an amazing team.

Dr C is a kind and helpful dr. I am not the best at times with describing my issues, but Dr C has taken me seriously. Being under her care has improved my life, I wish more doctors were as thorough as she is. Her office staff is also very approachable and quick to respond.

Such a disappointing experience having waited so long and have a dismissive appointment. I don't know why I have the inflammation and symptoms I do. I had hoped Dr. Carruthers could speak to my immunologist but she has no interest or time. The office staff were fine but I have been dropped without anyone to ask.

Dr. Carruthers has a strong knowledge of how RA impacts someone life and will help you better your health with more than just medications, she will also listen. I have been seeing her going on 6 years to treat my difficult to manage RA,, I am grateful for her care and the difference it has made in my life. She will help you find the comorbidities that may also be impacting your life, not just your arthritis. She also keeps up to date with current treatments and research. Great doctor!

I am very impressed with the detail we covered in a one-hour consultation over the phone. Finally, I am feeling both hopeful and confident with the upcoming investigations. Delay due to impact of COVID. Excellent conversation and two-way sharing of details... Lisa, the assistant, is stellar!

The best doctor I have ever seen. Diagnosed me correctly after 6 years of misdiagnosed. Got me access too the appropriate treatment and am feeling so much better. Highly recommend!
