I’ve been seeing Dr White for a few years and am very happy with the treatment she has provided. I find her to be knowledgeable and supportive.

Lyndall took me on as a patient when I was in a very bad way. She got me on the right path. However when my marriage began to break down and my (now) ex was communicating with her, she very much seemed to take my ex’s side. I felt very infantilised. The stress from what I went through in that relationship drove me to drink. I became suicidal as my ex continued to try to control and humiliate me post separation. As an inpatient, I became suicidal, had an attempt and was dropped from care. Even when I was fairly well, I was seeing her every six weeks which was expensive and unnecessary. She also referred me to a hyper-Christian, conservative fundamentalist DBT therapist who brought religion into the therapy room. This did a huge amount of damage to my self worth. Since being free from her care and free from my ex, my life has started to change in very positive ways. I have a new psychiatrist and it looks like I may be able to drop my medication dose, which I always felt was excessive and very sedating. I never felt like I had any input medication wise which was distressing because I didn’t want to be a zombie, night in, night out. So glad to be seeking another doctor.

I was referred to dr white by my GP due to the severity of my sadness post pregnancy. Although, it was a long process; Dr White was patient and helped me improve my overall mental health. She is extremely knowledgeable and caring and has helped me beyond belief. Thank you!

I became extremely unwell a few years ago after the birth of my child. Lyndall saw me at my absolute worst. I was at a point where I did not trust anyone or talk to anyone but I felt safe to open up to her about my life, genetic history, and various traumas. I never felt uncomfortable. It has been a long journey in finding correct medication, but I am finally feeling better. I have Lyndall to thank for that. She played a very big role in sorting my mental health out.

Dr White is an incredible doctor. Very knowledgeable. I saw Dr White for a perinatal consultation. She was upfront, no nonsense, to the point, which is exactly what I needed. Her fees may be a bit higher than other psychiatrists, but she is well and truly worth it.

I initially saw Dr White when I was pregnant and in a bad way. She was helpful in that she pushed me to get inpatient treatment, which is what I really needed. If you're looking for someone to talk to about your problems it's not Dr White. She is in no way able to work through problems with you. She is very good, however, at prescribing medication. Her knowledge on things other than psychiatry is very lacking. When my daughter was a newborn and keeping me awake at night Dr White advised me to put her in another room so I couldn't hear her. This is in direct opposition to the safe sleeping guidelines. She's also advised that I need to force food down my daughter's throat so that she will sleep better at night. When I pointed out that there was no evidence to support this she didn't believe me. When I told her that I let my daughter decide how much she eats Dr White told me that babies don't know what they want and to keep trying to get her to eat. I feel that some of the information she is giving out to young mothers, as a psychiatrist specialising in perinatal mental health, is very dangerous and not evidence based. She is very old-school and perhaps her time has come to retire.

Dr White is only interested in prescribing medication. A reaction to medication put me in hospital and despite the emergency doctors concluding she had prescribed a dose that was too high, she denied that could be a possibility. She also accused me of lying about symptoms of side effects and told me that if I didn’t take the medication she prescribed my life would be ruined. I moved onto a different psychiatrist and with his help I’ve been medication free.
