I have been seeing Dr. Jeff Silber over 6 years at Massapequa Pain Managment (only there on Wed). He is a kind and caring doctor, however he doesn’t seem to be very good at diagnosing spine problems. After years of complaining about upper back pain he sent me for an MRI of my thoracic (upper) spine, after begging him to, which only showed a herniated discs. He rxed Physical Therapy on my upper back and rxed muscle relaxers for years which only helped somewhat. I was still in tremendous pain. I knew there was a more sever issue but he did not take my pain very serious & refused to order additional MRIs after requesting them & his Pain Mang doc, Dr. Thomas Jan D.O. was a complete joke. Years later I finally went to a different doctor, a Spine Specialist. At the first visit he determined that the ‘main’ issue was NOT in my upper back but my NECK & immediately ordered a Cervical MRI which showed cervical spinal stenosis & several other issues. The probs in my neck where causing the upper back pain. It took this doctor ONE VISIT to properly diagnose me! Meanwhile Dr. Silber saw me for YEARS and NEVER even thought to check my neck!!! All those years wasted going to Dr. Silber while the real issue continued (unknowingly) to progress.

After waiting for more than 30 minutes, the doctor only spent three minutes on me and asked me if I wanted surgery. " If not, then go to physical therapy." He did not really care. I don't recommend this doctor.

Dr Silber is a wonderful dr. His office is clean and my wait was minimal. He was honest with my condition and not pushy on tests or medication. He showed me some simple excercises to do at home. Within a week I was feeling better. I would absolutely recommend Dr Silber and I will use him in the future.

Dr Silber is a wonderful orthopedist. He puts you at ease very quickly by just being calm and nice. He is patient and listens to all your concerns. I did not need surgery because he recommended pt and exercise to do at home. I would definitely use Dr Silber again as well as recommend him to others.

I have never left a rating online before. This marks my first time. I feel compelled to tell people with a pressing health matter that they should heavily consider seeing another orthopedic surgeon before coming to see Dr. Silber. Firstly, the most telling sign is the customer service upon calling this facility. Waiting 20 minutes to talk to someone who is very reluctant to speak with you is not the most comforting of beginnings. Ive met with Doctor Silber on 2 separate occasions now, and it is apparent that this practice is overwhelmed with patients. The volume of patients is so high that the faculty including Dr. Silber himself does not have the patience to give each and every patient the time of day - one call tell immediately that they feel encumbered by the volume of work they face. This could be just a mere coincidence that when I visited the practice, that it was very busy only at the times I had gone, but I find that hard to believe. Moreover, my personal experience/visit with the Doctor was very short lived. He checked my reflexes, sat at the computer, looked at my medical history records, and proceeded to give me MINIMAL information regarding how to remedy my discomfort. He pushed me through to get an MRI and said to make a follow up appointment to go over things. I made the follow up, had an extremely long waiting time, went in to meet with him and he mistakenly introduces himself to me a second time (acting as if he had never met me before - Frankly I think he forgot who I was when I had just met him the week before) and prescribes me physical therapy within a matter of seconds of meeting with him. I am extremely displeased with this service. I understand that the tri-state area is one of the busiest areas in all of the world for this matter, but come on people - get out of the kitchen if you cant handle the heat. I came here for CARE, and these people were CARELESS. End of story. Rethink your options. You've been warned.
