late to my session, didn’t look over any paperwork I had to fill out, asked if I did recreational drugs I responded with the odd time, told me she didn’t feel comfortable prescribing me any medication because of my substance abuse, she “sensed I was anxious” which I obviously was because she barely talked and when she did they were short questions you could barely go off of, than 10-15 into my appointment she decided we were no longer going to continue becasue my anxiety was making her anxious. Once telling her I was frustrated she asked me if I was the one in the room who went to medical school, studied psychiatry, and see paitents every day after responding with no it was “and that’s why I’m the one who makes the decisions not you” than began to talk about her own life and her own problems. This was the worst experience ever I cannot believe I waited over a year on a wait list for this, I thought this was the beginning to getting help with my mental health, but I’m honestly scared to get a second opinion because of how I was treated today. She felt as if she knew what I had talking to me for only 10 minutes. This doctor needs to be gone

This Dr is unique and special. First person in years that has taken the time to listen, show empathy and relate as a human being. The most hope I have had in a while knowing there are still great people in the world

Hostile and biased behavior towards me (patient). They dress it up as tough love. They spent half the session talking about their own issues and blamed their stress on "patients like me". I left crying, my symptoms have worsened, and they have not followed through with any of their commitments to me.

Dr. Ghuman is an excellent Psychiatrist and an excellent human being. She doesn't prescribe pills only but walks patients through the process of understanding the cause of their suffering and finding ways to accept and overcome it. Dr. Ghuman is a big promoter of a Self-Compassion process which is extremely important for every person to understand. She selflessly shares her time and knowledge with the community.

Dr Ghuman is helping me understand more of myself as a human being and going beyond the expectations I would have imagined someone in her field would. It is a healing process that I am glad to be having with her as my doctor.

She was late for her appointment and only spent 10 minutes talking with me before deciding she needed to meet me in person as i have had multiple diagnosis' (bpd, depression, anxiety, adhd). i have the feeling that if you tell her you do any kind of recreational drinking/smoking she will refuse to see you again.

I love her no sugar-coat attitude! I'm in a self-compassion group with her right now, and it has really helped me. This along with the medication she has prescribed to me, bI am finally getting a hold on my mental illness.

Dr Ghuman was 15 minutes late for our video appointment with no notification or apology. She was not thorough in her line of questioning and showed no personability or empathy whatsoever. When she asked me about alcohol/drug use, she shamed me for admitting to doing recreational drugs once per year with friends and told me that she would not treat me if I was a drug user and threatened to police it with blood tests. Midway through the appointment, she asked me to check a date for her. When I accidentally gave the wrong date, she scolded me for making her job harder as she had to correct it in her charting. She prescribed me medication without taking time to describe its effects or potential adverse reactions and seemed to be in a huge rush throughout the appointment. I have not been doing well lately and could not imagine going through that traumatic appointment if I had been any more emotionally vulnerable. Her lack of client care and judgemental demeanour has no place in the medical field.

I've read the reviews the night before my appointment and needless to say, it had caused me a lot of unnecessary tension and anxiousness to go in. But, after sitting through and experiencing my first call, I'm pleased that I went through with the appointment. It isn't as severe/bad as people have said while I was in for my morning appointment and I encourage anyone looking over these reviews to persevere through and just give it a shot. It may not be as bad as you believe it to be, and if it is, you may always look for a better fit in a practitioner if that is the case. But don't miss out on a chance for yourself to get the help you're seeking before you try.
