Dr. Brar is truly exceptional. A gem of a person. From the first visit we knew we wanted him to be the one doing my surgery. He is compassionate, patient and has an extremely caring attitude. I started with stage 4 cancer and after 3 cycles of chemotherapy was told surgery might not be for another 3 months because of long waitlists. Dr. Brar went above and beyond to ask for extra operating time. My 5 hour surgery went perfectly and he did a remarkable job. Recovery was breeze. I just completed the 7th and final cycle of chemotherapy and am going on maintenance treatment. My most recent scan shows no signs of cancer anywhere. Eternally grateful to Dr. Brar and his time.

Dr. Bear operated on me for a total hysterectomy on Jan 31. I can't say enough about his expertise and the care and compassion he and his staff gave me during a very stressful time . Thanks ever so much

Dr. Brar saved my life when I didn’t any hope of surviving. With stage 4 ovarian cancer I was told I would have chemotherapy and surgery will not be an option. Just when we lost all hope we met Dr. Brar. He was honest, calm and patient and held my hand and said he would fight for me. I had a long 6 hour surgery but came out of surgery with no visisible cancer. My medical oncologist showed me the latest scan which does not show any sign of cancer. Soo soo blessed to have had him as my surgeon.

Dr. Brar has been the guardian angle of our family. First he operated on my sister when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and then 2 years later saved my life when I was diagnosed with the same. Both times him and has team have been very professional. He is an amazing surgeon who inspires confidence. Both surgeries went very well and we have been amazed at the speed of our recoveries. Dr. Brar is compassionate and caring physician and has a wonderful bedside manner. He is a world-class surgeon. I was bounced around from surgeon to surgeon and no one was willing to operate on me. I saw two other so called “cancer surgeons” who wanted to offer me palliative treatment. He looked me in the eyes and said surgery will be tough but he was willing to work hard for me every step of the way. He got the tumor which was located in a very difficult position, with clear margins. He has a long waitlist and yes you have to wait to see him but because of him I have many more years to spend with my family.

Words cannot describe how blessed I feel to have Dr. Brar as my oncologist. I was diagnosed with cervix cancer during pregnancy and most doctors recommended I get an abortion so I can get treated for the cancer. I met Dr. Brar and his calm and collected demeanour immediately put us at ease. He was very empathetic and reassuring. He offered us the option to continue with pregnancy and at the same time start chemotherapy so we could keep the cancer in check. He assembled a team of oncologists, high risk OB doctors and personally supervised my care. I had my surgery with Dr. Brar at 32 weeks when we were sure the baby had the best chance at survival. Surgery was flawless and he got everything. No more chemotherapy or radiation. We now have a lifetime of love and happiness to cherish with our son. Not a day goes by when we are not grateful for Dr. Brar and his amazing team.

Dr. Brar performed my debulking surgery. I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in Oct 2020. After my second chemo cycle in Jan 2021 I was told that surgery was not an option at that time. I had a surgery consult in March 2021 and was told that I at least deserved a chance at surgery. My surgery was booked for May 2021. The day before my surgery I was told that my surgeon was changed to Dr. Brar. My family and I immediately researched Dr. Brar and were very impressed by what others had to say about him. He seemed like a real life saver. When I met Dr. Brar the morning of my surgery he reminded me that we had met once before. I was previously quite sick and met many medical professional so I hadn’t remembered him. He had an excellent bedside manner and explained things very clearly. Just after I was wheeled into the operating room Dr. Brar called his team together for a huddle. As I drifted off to sleep I knew I was in good hands. My surgery ended up being 10 hours. Dr. Brar came to see me in recovery and told me they were able to remove all the cancer they could see and feel. I had a complete hysterectomy and was left with two stomas. He came to see me again during my recovery to check on things and answer any questions. I can’t thank Dr. Brar enough for all that he did for me. Anyone would be lucky to have him as their surgeon!
