I was referred to Dr Bynum via my hometown surgeon after he had no other procedures to offer after 3 surgeries from a motor vehicle accident.
Dr Bynum is an amazing surgeon! I have my hand/fingers looking the best they have since my accident!! My fingers will never be the same due to the accident, but if I hadn't been referred to Dr Bynum, I would not be looking at and using them this good.

He and his team are great! I went to meet him with NO expectations. Dr Bynum's knowledge and expertise and surgery was above and beyond!!!

I am just thrilled with my new fingers! I have rheumatoid arthritis, and Dr. Bynum has just completed the third, and largest, surgery for me in about ten years, the others being the fusing of a toe, making it comfortable, and my right thumb, making it usable again. Now he has rebuilt the rest of my hand, which was weak, claw-like, painful and unusable. This is a life-changer. My fingers, still in a splint, are already more usable than pre-surgery, and so lovely and straight. The surgery went smoothly, and the single incision is on-track to become as unobtrusive as the other two. I have every confidence in pleasant, competent Dr. Bynum, he is my hero. They have also always returned my calls very promptly and set me up for occupational therapy right away!

Dr. Bynum did my husbands wrist surgery back in may and we think he is okay. We still aren't sure why his scar is so excessively big. My husband works with other ortho surgeons at another hospital and they have even questioned. His nurse is horrible about returning calls. We had to basically call every day for a week or 2 to even get a call back and all we needed was a prescription for occupational therapy. I personally wouldn't recommend him but it sounds like others have had better luck with him. He rushed us during our appointment which was very rude. He acted as if we were a burden to him. It was close to 5, so maybe he wanted to go home but they shouldn't schedule appts so close to 5.

Dr. Bynum has had 34 yrs. of experience in orthopaedics/surgery as of 2010. He is very kind, extremely knowledgeable, and very professional. He did a terrific job with my carpal tunnel surgery (outpatient). I am so happy with the results that I am having the opposite hand done in just 3 weeks from the first surgery. I drove almost 3 hours to have his expertise; he was recommended to me by another esteemed physician. Another plus is that although he's associated with UNC Hospitals, he's located in the Ambulatory Care building, which is set on its own, so parking is right outside the door.

Dr Bynum and his staff are wonderful to be associated with. They care about their patients. I have been seeing Dr Bynum for 5 years, now. Never, never have I been treated so well in such unpleasant circumstances. I feel as if I have had the very best of care over the years.
