As a retired general surgeon, I knew the best way to assess a good physician is to listen to his/her patients. I also know that regardless of his/her skills there will always be the odd patients who will have a negative experience with their practitioners.

About a year ago I underwent a Transurethral resection of the Prostate.

I was truly impressed by the clinical knowledge and skills of Dr. Duffy and his team, particularly the anesthesiologist.Dr. Morrow who not only debunked my fear of epidural anesthesia by showing me how painlessly it could be carried out but also distracted in the entirety of the procedure by engaging me in a conversation that I was unaware that the procedure was over.

I was discharged from hospital within 25 hours of the operation.

Postoperatively my pain management was taken care of just two doses of Tylynol doublestrenth and within an hour of reaching home I got behind the wheel and ran a short errand.

The rest of my postoperative recovery was entirely uneventful.

Overall, my experience with Dr. Duffy made me conclude that he is one of the very best urologist in the whole of Canada.

I am truly grateful to have had him care for me.

Dr. Duffy treated me for prostate cancer. I felt very comfortable that he was the best surgeon for me. He has good bedside manner and was informative on all my questions and took his time to educate me on the procedure.

I know I will be in great hands for the next 10 years as I get my annual check up after surgery. I love his upbeat personality and he takes time to make me feel comfortable Also if I need to be operated on againI am tremendously glad I have him as my Doctor. I underwent TURP surgery that was performed by Dr. Duffy at The Rockyview Hospital in June of 2023. Most discussions were via telephone appointments as he already had all of my recently completed lab tests and CAT Scans, as ordered by my family physician. He assured me that TURP would work extremely well in my situation, a very enlarged prostate. The surgery went according to schedule. He briefly checked in on me on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons before discharging me on Wednesday. He did a follow-up phone call 10 days after the surgery when the lab results were in. No signs of cancer. I can describe Dr. Duffy's manner as being very friendly and efficient. He displays a good amount of self confidence which I think is a great asset for a surgeon.

Dr. Duffy was awesome as were his staff. Carefully explained everything that was going to happen during the procedure and carefully explained the outcome of the procedure. Highly recommend.

I was referred to Dr. Duffy by my family Dr. when it was confirmed by CT scan that I had a tumor on my kidney. I waited about 4 weeks to see him, the waiting is the hardest part of course. He was very calming and answered my questions and was able to get me scheduled 3 weeks after for a partial nephrectomy. His office staff are pleasant and efficient and if I call with a request it is dealt with right away. I will be good friend with Dr. Duffy for 5 years as I have an annual CT to keep an eye on my kidneys. If you are lucky enough to be referred to him, I think you will find he is an amazing human being as well as a skilled surgeon who is great with following up with his patients.

Saw this doctor. Waited for what I thought was a long time. As another said, I felt he was in a hurry. Didn't seem as concerned as I was about my issues. Said "I will see 10 like you today" after briefly listening and asking if I had urination isssues. Prescribed meds which he remarked "you'll be peeing like an 18 year old". Said I needed therapy.
They called and gave me a date but mentioned to me that it is a "user pay first" and they don't bill Blue Cross directly. No acceptions. $150+ for first visit. Meds he prescribed left me weak, dizzy and to the point of blacking out. My family doctor changed the Meds to another.
I felt he had a dismissive attitude and minimized my issues all to have me go through a "for profit" therapy center.
As I was unable to pay up front, I contacted Blue Cross. Even though I had a health spending acount, I was informed that I had to pay and submit the bills fior reimbursment. Thanks for the benefits! They are there, but only when you pay first.
I'm seeing someone else that hopefully will address my issue without just pushing me through their profit center.

I had a very short visit with DR Duffy who seemed in a hurry. The drug prescribed gave me huge amount of pain and urinary restriction that I went off it. No way to contact him
