This hospital is dirty with cluttered hallway. Dirty laundry bins are stacked along corridors. This is a hazard in an emergency, as this creates choke points and would make it very difficult to move patients and or equipment in or out in an emergency situation, such as an evacuation. Computer stations located in hallways that are not locked when staff are away from them, which provides easy access to confidential information, this is a breach of FOIP and staff seem to be not trained in proper procedures. Used medical gloves were left laying on the floor in patients rooms, which is a concern due to the fact that a child or an adult could pick them up to dispose of them, not being aware of any biological hazards or contamination. I was very disappointed in this facility and would never recommend it to anyone due to the apparent lack of training that the staff receives or the lack of understanding that the staff appear to have about cleanliness and efficiency in the care of their patients. Patients being moved from rooms and placed in a lounge area for holding. There is no form of entertainment as in television set and patients can not occupy themselves on a daily basis as there simply is nothing for them to do. I was very discouraged with this procedure as it seems to show a complete lack of care and compassion which is what I thought our health care providers were suppose to do.
The worst emergency services I have ever seen....waited 4 hours in pain to be bumped from 5th in line to 11th in line and left....came back next night with pain and waited 3 hours then got an intern that asked 1000 questions and the Dr came in and did a ultrasound which turned up nothing then Drs changed shifts and new Dr did cat scan and told specialist to call me in a week....if not call back....left with pain and frustration 12 hours later....don't waste your time going here.....they couldn't care less how you feel.....
I have been to the Rockyview several times. 4 times for surgery and numerous other times for injured back, ankle, knee etc. I have always - always received excellent care by emergency staff and doctors. It has been my misfortune to have been taken to South Calgary Campus-once and the Peter Lawheed once. I pray that I will never be taken to either one again! Please let me die at the side of the road than be taken to either of these facilities again!
I had a 7 hour wait in the emergency room while suffering from a severe asthma attack. None of the staff seemed to care, and I felt let down by the system. They did not treat their patients like people or customers, but rather just a number. No one seemed remotely interested in helping all the suffering patients writings. A woman beside me started crying for an hour and not a single staff member came to see if she was ok. Everyone praises Canada's public health care, but the rocky view is a testimony to abolish that entire system.
Zero star. Broken rib after a labor yoo bunch of cr*p idiots. My wife was telling the nurses and doctors that she feels a horrible pain in the ribs area, the doctors and nurses said: oh that could be normal after a labor. 2 days later went to the family doctor and she suggested an X-Ray and finally the X-Ray showed a broken rib!
I went in for what I believe was acute pancreatitis. I'd had extreme pain all night in my abdomen and went to the doctor as soon as their office was open in the morning. He referred me to the hospital. When I got to emerg, there was no line at triage. I was in a great deal of pain but the nurses looked at me and said "someone will be with you in a moment" then they turned and began discussing their plans for the weekend. After about a minute they said goodbye and one left. The other turned to help me. I was blown away by the amazing lack of any kind of customer service mindset this demonstrated. I work in a bar and I'm far more motivated to get people drinks than these nurses were to help a person in pain. Unbelievable. The doctors and nurses that I dealt with after triage were very helpful, although the entire process took about 10 hours, with plenty of waiting.
I WONDER IF MANAGERS OR THE HOSPITAL DIRECTOR OR THE MAIN PERSON INCHARGE OF THE ROCKY VIE HOSPITAL CARE ENOUGH TO READ THE BAD REVIEWS THE PEOPLE WITH BAD EXPERIENCES THAT EITHER AT THE HOSPITAL OR THE EMERGENCY ROOM HAVE GONE THROUGH BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF CONSIDERATION OF EITHER NURSES OR DOCTORS, WHO EITHER ARE RUDE BY NATURE OR IGNORANT PRETENDING TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AS PROFESIONALS, BUT FAILING TO DELIVER EFICIENT CARE. YOU SEE DIRECTOR OF THIS HOSPITAL , THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE....I HAPPENED TO BE IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM THIS LAST WEEKEN OF MARCH 10Th... AND IAM DISAPOINTED AT THE LACK OF CONSIDERATION OF MANY PEOPLE WORKING FOR THIS HOSPITAL, WASTING THEIR TIME AROUND AN ON TOP OF IT WHILE I SUFERED FROM A PAINFUL CONDITION... THEY SEND ME HOME IGNORANTS OF WHAT WAS CAUSING IT!... SERIOUSLY?... HOW MUCH MONEY IS GOVERNMENT PAYING ALL OF THIS STAFF WHO NO BODY CLOSELY CHECK TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE NICE OR INCONSIDERATE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC OR DELIVERING THE SERVICE THEY ARE SUPOSE TO WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT.... WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THIS HOSPITAL?.... DO YOU REALLY CARE?... OR WHO CARES!
