He NEVER answers the phone and has no receptionist. There isn't anyone ever in his office to answer it and so trying to get in touch with him is like pulling teeth. I can endlessly leave messages and he will get back to me weeks later. It's ridiculous as my situation is VERY urgent and he's keeping me from getting care I need desperately

Dr. Gopinath knows his stuff. He is an excellent person to deal with. Always on time.

The guy is useless. He withheld vital information and was explicitly vague, misleading, and unhelpful. He dragged his feet on scheduling follow up appointments that were extremely important. The best thing about the treatment so far has been the fact that he isn’t responsible for getting anything done anymore. The further the treatment gets from him and his office, the better. He is a joke.

I had a colonoscopy done by Dr. Gopinath years ago at East General he was very kind and gentle. For some reason I didn't fall asleep he waited for me to sleep but told me he would have to go ahead anyways. I was scared for a moment but he was so gentle I was totally fine. I did have a issue with a very ruff doctor in the past but Dr. Gopinath was very careful and kind. I'm having to have another one done and I will see Dr. Gopinath again.

My son was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after being sent home twice from the emergency department at Toronto East General Hospital. Finally after calling an ambulance the hospital decides to admit him. Things get worse from then on with his GI being Dr. Gopinath. I feel really bad for my son as this is his first experience being hospitalized and having this uncaring abrupt doctor that he has to see every week to monitor his condition.
It has all been such a negative experience for him. You have a dietician sit with you for an hour going over what you can and cannot eat and then you have a GI specialist giving you conflicting information. Bottom Line if you can avoid it don't go to Toronto East General Hospital.

I was left with little confidence in his competence and suspected that he was as engaged with my file as he was with a window washing flyer he received in his mailbox. I had to pull teeth to get any answers or assessment from him, and he all but refused to discuss strategies to allieviate my symptoms. Just more drugs. Which weren't working of course. And worst of all, he directly contradicted himself--the first time I visited this guy, I noted that I was on Zantac for a few months and he told me that was a bad idea. The next time I saw him, he suggested a go on Zantac long term, and when I asked him if that was really a good idea considering what he said last time, he said it was fine.

Have been seeing Dr. Gopinath for a number of years for my gut problem. Did not have any long waits in his office, but did in out-patient clinic in the hospital, which he has little or no control over. His caring and competence cannot be questioned - he cares about his patients and the care I have received has been excellent. He tells it like it is - no bs.

I went to Dr. Gopinath on the advice of my mother who had previously seen him. I was quite happy with him when I had my colonoscopy. The followup time is a bit too long. Going for my upcoming followup appt next week. Hope he can answer some questions I have for him. I will keep everyone informed of what type of doctor he is.
