Dr Jassam has been my husband and sons family Dr for a while now. Just recently switched myself. He is so kind and knowledgeable. Always asks about the family.

I have been struggling with my mental health for almost all my life, going from doctor to doctor to therapist then my doctor asked Dr. Jassam to see me. When I met him, at first and due to my previous experience, I didn’t have high expectations. He asked me many questions that no one else asked me, listened very well and did not interrupt me or judge me as happened in the past. In the end he told me what he thinks I have and why he thinks so. He was telling the story of my life as if he had been seeing me all my life. Despite all pain I have he made me smile and hopeful that there is a solution. He changed my medications and reduced them from seven to four and referred me to a psychotherapist. After six months, I can say that I turned to another woman and began to see life from another perspective and return to what I was before. Visiting him and staying with him for a few months until he sent me back back to my original doctor was the best thing happened to me in my life, and I will forever owe him thanks for his help. I have recommended him to all my friends who struggle with mental health hoping they would feel what I feel now.

Dr. Jassam is my doctor for more than ten years and I will not be going to another doctor nor be looking for another one, even if his wait time is too long
He is the most caring and affectionate doctor I have ever seen.
I and my family have never been misdiagnosed, neglected or felt rushed in all our visits to him
Dealing with his staff, though, is not easy, but I know they are under pressure from people especially during COVID-19

Yes, it is not easy to make an appointment with him, but when you see him, you know why it is difficult to reach him
He gives you all the time you need and deals with all your problems and makes you feel that you are special and after you leave the clinic you know that you are in safe hands
I have decided more than once to look for another doctor, but I know it is not easy to find a doctor with his intelligence, knowledge and care
The nurse practitioner is also good at dealing with simple things, but seeing him is a different kind of experience
I wish he knows that

Extremely unprofessional for years. Has misdiagnosed me more than once which led to suffering. Had a tear in a tendon that he told me was fine and sent me back home. When I came back two weeks later with a cane and a fully swollen knee, he then acknowledged it was an issue then sent me for an xray, which turned out to be a tear which required surgery. Second time, I was suffering from pneumonia and had been having whooping coughs which would result in my blacking out and having a seizure due to lack of oxygen to my brain. First few times I came in he told me I was fine and sent me back home without even a cough medicine prescription. After it got worse and I went back in and had woke up from another blackout and seizure surrounded by the staff, that's when he sent me in for an xray and I was diagnosed with really bad pneumonia. All in all, he doesn't care about my wellbeing which is the opposite of what his job is. His staff never picks up the phone and its impossible to book with him, forcing you to sit in waiting room even in covid times.

Dr. Jassam is an incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate and helpful doctor! I’ve had several doctors in the past, but have been a patient of his for several years now, and have never had such amazing patient care prior to becoming a patient of his! Aside from his knowledge and expertise, he makes his patients feel heard, comfortable and safe. I would highly recommend him to anyone, even children, as he is also my families doctor.

I was referred by my doctor to Dr. Jassam for depression & anxiety, and had a very bad experience during my one visit. He took a look at my file and categorized me as having a personality disorder, and suggested an anticonvulsant medication that has serious side effects. Other doctors have prescribed yoga & meditation & counselling which have worked much better, and I left his office feeling scared, vulnerable, and angry. I see that others have had much better experiences, and I'm hoping mine was a one-off, but I would be weary of trusting doctors who think they know you and how to fix you. This seems to be a widespread systemic problem in mental health. There are much better options to heal people experiencing emotional pain and trauma, and bogus diagnoses, labelling, and jumping to prescription meds is not the way. He also suggested DBT which was a better alternative, although $140/session and not an option for me without a health plan. I think it is up to the doctor to provide suggestions for free and subsidized treatments for those who cannot afford expensive sessions.

This review is long overdue. My family has been patients of Dr. Jassam for a few years while living in the Ottawa area until we recently moved. Dr. Jassam is an amazing, kind, knowledgeable human being. He always cracks jokes everytime we walked into his office and genuinely cares about his patients like family. When we first started seeing him, my daughter was very timid and over time became extremely comfortable with him. He knows how to make kids and adults alike feel comfortable around him. As for me personally, Dr.Jassam has helped through many phases from post-partum to battling depression. He even offered to help transfer us
to some colleagues he knew when we moved. He truly is an amazing human being and I'm grateful to have had him as our doctor for the last few years!
