Although Dr. Chong may initially come across as hard and uncaring, nothing could be further from the truth. He has an extremely big heart and works tirelessly to save as many lives as possible- including mine when I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. He can sometime be straight forward and not sugar coat things - but that's just how he is and I actually like that about his character. God bless you Dr. Chong for all that you've done for me and countless others over the years.

Yes, I agree this doctor is heartless!!! NO compassion, empathy!! Doom & gloom doctor!!!On the day, he told my mom to go hospice, my mom had a stroke. We blamed him for it!!! Instead of comforting my mom who is going through a lot, she instilled in her fear & a sense of hopelessness!!! We regretted not going to another doctor!!! Because of this doctor, my mom is gone sooner!!!Please do not go to this doctor!!!

This guy must be tired of his job. He is always LATE and never seems to be happy. I have been accompanying my Aunty who was recently diagnosed with Stage II Lung Cancer ..AT FIRST! My Aunty has no children with her in American so my cousins and I have been taking turns and English is her 2nd language. EACH visit, Chong gives us that vibe that we are a burden for him. His face looks disgusted that we are in his presence. Prior to him entering the room, we could hear him laughing and talk with other people( this is after waiting 1 hr outside). We attempt to ask him questions about her condition but we never get straight answers. He keeps saying my aunty is the patient so he would like to address her directly..hello! she can't really understand you and that's is why we are there! We have observed how he treats his employees also. He is rude and disrespectful! He is an oncologist and should have a HEART and be more humbling. After our first visit, he said he would call us because he needed to talk to another doctor. We waited a week, we called QUEENS CANCER CENTER and his medical assistant stated she would follow up. That staff was pleasant and very understanding. 3 Days later we went in for a follow up. I asked the same staff again and watched her approach the doctor with the written message. I was astonished with his reaction when approached! .. He looked at his staff, he looked down on the message took it and ripped it up! How much more rude can this doctor be? When he finally came into the room, he inquired about the message and more worse!.. He said his staff never informs him of any messages. This "doctor" is pathetic! We requested for another doctor and was told they doctors don't share patients. This doctor does not realized what he is putting other people through. We don't care if he is your most senior doctor ( we were told he is the chief). After 3 visits, he tells us that my Aunty was actually Stage 4 Lung Cancer. We were devastated! Again we wanted to ask questions, but he never gave us the time of day! He gave my Aunty options but it was not for a cure. He said chemo is expensive and he knows its going to make her sick but "hopefully" slows down the cancer from spreading more. He also brought up Hospice. My Aunty knew her absolute answer but wanted the rest of the family to decide. My aunty asked if she could travel, the doctor said that would be a good idea to spend all your money on. What type of answer is that?? We told the doctor we need to discuss the situation more clearer with her in Filipino and with family This was 1 year AGO!.. My aunty is still alive. She is doing very well ( doing what she loves most, gardening!) We have not returned to Chong . We have seen another oncologist at Queens and also established with one in the Philippines for her to see while vacationing there. We would NOT recommend Clayton Chong to anyone! The best doctors would there have a HEART , this one DOES NOT! Don't waste your time unless you like to wait around for hours for him only to make you feel like you' re wasting his time.

He is a very compassionate physician I know. He spent over over 2 hours answering any questions and concerns my husband and I had. He explained our options and gave us advice. He has made me a fighter. If it wasn't for him my life would have probably been cut short. 5 years ago at stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma...I'd say he's the greatest physician. He has programmmed me to always stay positive.

Very unhelpful and heartless. My mother has pancreatic cancer and I go with her to all of her doctor appointments and he barely gives us information. My mom is now in hospice care after a harsh year of chemotherapy. Recently my mom has been complaining of bloating in her stomach and can barely eat. The nurse suggested she get relief from the doctor, but he wants nothing to do her now.
