Dr Manns is the gold standard of doctors. In my decades long medical history, he has been by far the most knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and personable doctor of dozens I’ve worked with. He seems to know his patients very well individually and because of his knowledge, support and confidence that my kidney function was stable, I was able to have a child when no one else thought it was possible.
He knows how to talk to patients in a way that is helpful and not condescending. He did everything right to help me preserve my remaining kidney function until I needed a transplant. Now that I have a new post-transplant nephrologist I’d *almost* give up my healthy new kidney to have him back as my nephrologist when I compare him to my new one.

Not sure if a nephrologist whose primary focus is on the cost of managing care for patients experiencing kidney issues is the best choice. My experience with him felt like his recommendation was based on what would save the system the most money, not based on the best outcome.

I have been a patient of Dr. Manns for over 20 years and have always felt comfortable and cared for when in his presence. Although I am one of those who does not fully understand my kidney condition, I feel that he does and that he cares. My kidney function has improved over the past few years an I feel that I owe that to his care.

Dr. Manns has been my nephrologist for 12+ years and although I still don't understand what my kidney disease is I know he has it under control! He is wonderful, patient and the best doctor I have ever had.

Such a great doctor...given a chance to choose another nephrologist i would still choose him. I wish i could go back to the time when my family doctor found out that my kidney function was deteriorating...how i wished he was the one who looked and checked my case. The first dr. wasn't so accomodating and just told me my kidney function was normal for asian people and i was ok. Then months later i am already at stage 4. Thank God dr. Manns took the call and ask for an urgent biopsy.
