The purpose of this comment is to express my profound gratitude to Dr. Tsai for her expertise and compassionate care during the surgery performed in August 9, 2023. Additionally, I aim to share my personal journey with individuals who may find themselves in a similar situation and seek guidance. Since December 2022, I have endured severe pain in both of my legs. Despite undergoing conservative treatment for over seven months, my condition showed no signs of improvement. Consequently, I made the decision to undergo surgery under Dr. Tsai's care in August 9, 2023.

I deliberately waited until now, seven months post-surgery, to share my story. My intention was to ascertain whether the pain in both legs, attributed to a herniated disc, would resurface, as reported by some individuals. I am delighted to report that throughout these seven months following the surgery, I have not experienced any leg pain or uncertainty regarding my ability to walk. My mobility has been flawless.

I am truly grateful for Dr. Tsai's exceptional treatment and her remarkable surgical skill. Undoubtedly, she is an outstanding neurosurgeon.
(sorry for the spelling errors in Dr Tsai's name below . So redo it)

I think it is shameful for people who know nothing about medicine to comment in such a disgraceful manner! Calling a surgeon who dedicated her life to medicine and helping patients! I think to put down such an incredible human who literally gives up so much to make sure people do not go paralyzed goes to say how narrow minded individuals can be. Wait times are the same everywhere, she is a specialist, and a Neurosurgeon, she does 10 things a minute. Dr. Tsai goes out of her way to make sure her patients are cared for in the best manner possible. Dr. Tsai is a very compassionate individual with a pure heart, she sacrifices time with her own family so she can make sure to be there when she is needed for patients and their health. I do believe a surgeon will know best when an individual requires surgery. Dr. Tsai is one of the most incredible human beings I have ever met, she has dedicated years to good practice, medicine, patient care, research, and excellence. Dr. Tsai is a wonderful mentor, teacher, Doctor, and most of all Surgeon. I do not think one experience with her can warrant such distrust in her superior capabilities.

Took my wife to this Dr had a 4 hour wait, which is crazy in itself . While waiting another gentleman was there and told us she'll tell you to exercise and loose weight and it's not back pain but weak muscles because that's what she said to him and he was thin as a rail and low and behold it's exactly what she did my wife is thin also and has been doing physio for 2 years and exercising daily. MRI SHOW deterioration and a cyst but doctor says that doesn't cause pain. Worst experience ever Ottawa Civic is horrible

Hey people.. stop complaining on rate MD, does not do any good!! Instead , complain to the College (CPSO), this will put more pressure on her to change her attitude/practice or just leave neuro surgery for good. No big loss for TOH.

Poor professional attitude, She immediately downplayed my injuries and had no sense of compassion for the pain I'm dealing with and the daily struggles that come with chronic pain!! Was absolutely no help after waiting so long to see her!

This was my second consultation in 3 years with this surgeon and judging by the abysmal experience I had during the first one, I should have known it would not go well. It didn't. As others on this page have noted, and as I myself experienced during both of my in-person consultations with the doctor, she is astoundingly rude and overbearing. Her professional manner is simply dreadful; she is cold, aloof and seemingly simply uninterested.
She does not listen. She does not wait for answers to her rapid fire questions. She is astonishingly disrespectful of her pateint's fears and needs. She is a hideuosly boorish woman, apparently incapable of or unconcerned with even elementary human to human contact. She is totally incapable of holding a civil discourse. Her fall back position is to revert to ill mannered overtalking and interruptions.
Were she an accomplished surgeon, some of this might be forgiven. But after reviewing an MRI that clearly showed severe four level cervical disc deterioration, Dr. Tsai had the unmitigated gall to tell me that what I needed was physiotherapy. Physiotherapy!! A foolish woman and an outrageous diagnosis that ran counter to what was clearly indicated in the MRI as well as the X-rays.
Happily, I am in a positiion to be able to afford to seek medical treatment for my cerebral deterioration overseas and this I shall be doing in the very near future.
Do NOT copnsult this doctor unless there is absolutely no other option and even then, steer clear if you can. It is simply incomprehensible that someone who professes to be a skilled surgeon can be such a vile individual and in my case, also someone who misdiagnosed my cervical deterioration so badly that she saw fit to slough it off as simply requiring physiotherapy. This woman is a fool. You have been warned.

This MD has horrible communication with her patients and their families. When complications arise she does not act quickly enough and let's her patient deteriorate quickly over several days. She also does not come to see her patient daily while they are in hospital. She has made a appearance 2 times out of 14 days. This whole experience has been extremely frustrating and disgusting to say the least.
